About this ebook

The poems in this book are derivative of some of Buddhist concepts. Mind is the basic theory of Buddhism. Mind is the power behind all our intentions, ills, pleasures and sufferings. Anger is a pain, jealousy is a pain, and seeking pleasure is also a pain. Reflecting on our own thoughts will help us to understand our mind. By understanding that, we will reach happiness and great realization. From Buddhist perspective, compassion and loving kindness help us to redirect our minds, distract it from anything adverse. This book of poetry look into our own mind, stages of life and our own actions that can cause suffering to ourselves and to the others as well.

Darshi Ranmuthu

Being an educator for 23 years made a significant difference in life. Most of it was in a third world collectivist society with numerous obligations, commitments and ties. It changed since 2007 when I moved to a first world individualistic corner of the universe. It was a positive change that helped me to brush up my creative nooks. I realized wider experience is the basis for writing. Yet it is not possible to get away from my own upbringing and it always becomes the foundation or the strong walls that holds my imaginations and creativity.

    Purifying Mind - Darshi Ranmuthu

    Introduction

‘Purifying Mind’ is written on some of the Buddhist concepts. According to Buddhism mind is the cause for all our actions and pains. In this book I tried to point out in the form of poetry how we can understand our minds, how we can enlighten our thoughts and how we can use Dharma in our lives. I tried to use technical terms as minimum as possible.
