Historical Importance of Orion and Taurus to the Ancients

About this ebook
I was convinced it would work. Point the device at the right star, and I would return to my home. I was standing outside the front of my house on a cold winters evening. The sky was ablaze with sparkling lights you could almost touch. I aimed the device and waited to be lifted up to the stars. I was excited, but also vaguely apprehensive of the journey ahead, after all I was only 3. Then, my father called me back into the house. I wasn’t to see the “device” again until I returned to my home town 12 years later, given to me by a man who had worked with my father. I suppose he had looked after it for me. He told me it was a gun sight. When you looked through the sight you could see a blurred red light and nothing much else. Perhaps that’s all it was.
I’ve poured over ancient texts and studied astronomical records all my life, looking for the star I suppose. If you want something enough, eventually you will find it and I believe I have, an orange star in between Taurus and Orion. The brightest of the group of 3 or 4 stars, 111 Tauri is barely visible to the naked eye. The nearby companion of interest, Gliese 201, requires a telescope to view it.
The start dates of our common male ancestor, the advent of civilization, the Egyptian king lists and the dates of creation myths from many cultures are similar. Is this just a coincidence? From the beginning man was enamoured with a certain region of the sky. Many clues point towards a star in that region. This book explores the path taken by the ancients and the evidence left of their origin.

HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE OF ORION AND TAURUS TO THE ANCIENTS
Introduction
I was convinced it would work. Point the device at the right star, and I would return to my home. I was standing outside the front of my house in Aberavon, on a cold winters evening. The sky was ablaze with sparkling lights you could almost touch. I aimed the device and waited to be lifted up to the stars. I was excited, but also vaguely apprehensive of the journey ahead, after all I was only 3. Then, my father called me back into the house. I wasn’t to see the device
again until I returned to West Glamorgan 12 years later, given to me by a man who had worked with my father at Port Talbot Docks.
Is the age of man’s common male ancestor, the advent of civilization, the length of reign of the Egyptian king lists and the dates of creation myths a coincidence? From the beginning man was enamoured with a certain region of the sky. Too many clues point towards a star in that region to be overlooked. This book explores the path taken by the ancients and the evidence they left of their origin.
The book is written in cold scientific language, but illustrated by a not so fictional discussion in non-italics and in inverted commas of each critical postulate.
PART 1
Adam
Spencer Wells has concluded that all humans are patrilinealy descended from a single male who lived in Africa 60,000 years ago¹. Other estimates suggest a range of from 37,000 to 49,000 years ago². These dates contrast significantly with estimates of the age of Eve which are approximately 100,000 years earlier. There is an obvious reason for this difference. Should a man be born, who’s genes gave his off-spring an edge in the survival stakes, he and his descendants will have an increased probability of producing off-spring, to the point where all the descendants from other men present in his time would eventually disappear from the gene pool.
It should instil a feeling of brotherhood amongst men and women of all races, that we share the genes of an ancestor from some 1,500 generations ago. The date is extraordinarily recent and coincides with the emergence of art.
The King Lists of Egypt
The king lists of the Egyptians consistently give dates that accord well with the age of Adam. Manetho gives a date around 36,500 BC and the Turin Papyrus 37,500 to 40,000 BC. Could these lists be based on an oral tradition that dates back to the origin of our sentience? Mela and Herodotus both give a date of 39,000 BC by interpretation albeit convoluted. Diodorus the Greek states Osiris, the fifth king or dynasty of Manetho and the Turin papyrus’ list, may have lived as early as 23,000 BC.
Who are these dudes and why should we believe them?
They are all Greek or Roman historians. My view is they were still around when Egypt had high priests and books dating back to their dynastic times. We don’t have access to these resources anymore.
Surely we can look at the same books.
Unfortunately not. Nobody knows exactly how, but the libraries were burnt down.
Dates of Creation from Other Cultures
Phoenicians
According to Julius Africanus an African historian, many of the historical records of the Phoenicians give around 30,000 BC as the date of their origin. This is reasonable agreement with the date of origin from the Egyptian king lists.
Sumerians
The Sumerian texts present a mystery. According to their records, the Gods reigned for 120 SAR’s before the flood. A SAR has been interpreted as 3,600 years, which gives a date of 432,000 years. Analysing the records closely though, firstly we have "After the kingship descended from heaven, the kingship was in Eridug... In 5 cities 8 kings; they ruled for 241200 years. Then the flood swept over. But in the next paragraph we have
After the flood had swept over, and the kingship had descended from heaven, the kingship was in Kis..." This implies that there was a flood and then the kingship descended from heaven. In other words the pre-flood time and location had not been on Earth.
