Cave In Book 2
Chapter 8
Ben walked Diane to the Bronco and opened the door for her, he told her he felt good now, it must have been the breakfast he had disagreeing with him. The truth was he felt he was in a horror movie as the lead character who was supposed to die, he did not like how he felt much if the truth be told. Ben breathed a sign of relief when he saw Bobby was no longer in the Bronco with them.
Confusion reared its ugly head and Ben did not have the foggiest idea what to do next. When they arrived at Diane’s house across the front door of her house were the words you will remember me soon enough diane, soon enough.
Only this time paint was replaced with red lipstick. Detective Harrison was called up and he arrived fifteen minutes later to see the latest note written on her front door. All the letters were lower case and appeared written by a small child. They will have the writing analyzed to see if they can determine if a Child or and adult wrote it and the genre. The Detective searched for any evidence he could find and once again, there was none. Detective Harrison told Diane he would have an unmarked car make regular visits past her house throughout the night and then he left. Diane and Ben were Left alone. She had to put Scotty in the bedroom because he tried to go after a few of the policeman investigating the writing on her door, that was Scotty’s normal behavior. The police and the Detective were gone and she left Scotty out of the bedroom only to have him sit next to Ben on the couch. Scotty did not sit on the furniture he sat on the floor near the couch.
The killer started the game, trying to induce fear into their lives, this was one game Ben or Diane could not afford to lose. The night was uneventful, Ben slept on the couch and Diane in her bedroom. Silence broke at 6:00AM with a call from Detective Harrison telling Ben that the possible killer was in custody. Fire chief Dan Everly arrested at 3:00AM driving slowly in front of Diane’s driveway, after checking his truck red lipstick was found. The lipstick sent to the crime lab to check if it’s the same lipstick used on Diane’s door. The chief’s computer, business and personal have been ceased and sent to the crime lab. Dan’s house was searched and a hidden box containing photos of Diane were found hidden away, many photos to include pictures taken in a bathing suite at the beach. It appears he was obsessed with Diane and hid his secret all these years, his wife never knew. They asked the Chief why he was driving slowly in front of Diane’s house and he had no answer, he simply said he did not know. He was booked under suspicion of murder and he is now sitting in the county jail.
Detective Harrison told Ben he would keep him updated on the case against Dan Everly. Ben told Diane of the phone call from the Detective and she doubted Dan was the one, he never showed her any interest throughout the years.
Ben went outside to check to make sure everything was secure and no more notes written on walls or doors. Bobby was waiting for him when he went outside and told Ben right away that Dan is not the killer, he was framed and the pictures and lipstick planted. They managed to hypnotize Dan to get him to drive past her house at 3:00AM. Sorry Ben, but the killer is still out there. The killer is very smart and has an endless supply of evil contacts. Ben informed Diane he thought the killer was still out there also and it’s not Dan, he must have been framed so they would let their guards down and become easy targets. Diane said, "She needed to stop by the office for at least a half of day and catch up on some work. Ben had to leave as well and check in at his living quarters and to see how the fire department was doing without the chief. He wanted to go check on the Chief at the county jail also and give his support. The killer knew Bobby was assisting Diane and Ben, Bobby was only one and the killer had many. Bobby was just a pawn in a chest game surrounded by knights and Bishops, just a matter of time before he made a mistake and removed from the game.

Diane thought she was so hot and all that in high school. I did my best to be friends with her, and in elementary school, she was the same way, she ignored me. Now I bet she wished I would ignore her, not a chance, she will pay for this. All my life I have been second fiddle to the likes of Diane, not anymore. I will be soon the most popular, matters little to me if it’s in a bad way, soon people will know me, I have been waiting my whole life for such a day and the recognition I
