About this ebook

Athena, a college lecturer on Greek history and mythology, has always wanted to visit the faraway country that is home to her family roots and the basis for her professional specialty.

A chance encounter with an older student goes horribly wrong and Athena finds herself on suspension from the university. The only good thing in the midst of this upheaval is that the student was Greek and Athena takes it as a sign that now is the time to finally visit this magical country that houses so many dreams for her.

On her visit, she takes in the beauty of the land, learns about the myths of the culture, and experiences more than she ever expected when she is rescued from a near fatal accident by a handsome stranger -- and not just any stranger, but a Centaur.

What transpires between them is a mix of passion and discovery as she learns that this mythical creature is not only a superior lover, but a tender being who is more man than any she has known.

T he Palaiologos or Palaeologus as the name is pronounced in Latin, was the name of a Greek noble family, and not just any family, I paused for dramatic effect, but the one that produced the heirs to the last ruling dynasty of the Byzantine Empire. I looked out at my college classroom, but to my dismay nearly half seemed not to share my enthusiasm.

Although I found Greek history and mythology fascinating, some of my students appeared to only be here to fulfill a requisite class. I had a doodler in the third row, a note passer in the second, and in the back, a male and female student who were texting back and forth, believing that I was too thick to notice.

I took a deep breath, glanced at the clock and persevered. Only five more minutes. For this short amount of time, they could put up with my lecture and I could handle their lack of interest.

So...anyone know who -- as well as what -- led this family into great power?

One hand rose from the middle seats. It belonging to a male student with pitch black hair, a bronze complexion and seductive, green eyes lined by dark lashes. I don’t know how I had never noticed him before, but now he drew in my attention like a beacon.

I pointed to him. Yes, you in the fifth row...I’m sorry, I don’t know your name. Are you new to my class?

    I’m Nicolaus. Nicolaus Petrokova. I’m a senior.

Ahh, you’re Greek. You should have an innate knowledge of the subject.

Let’s just say that I have a distinct interest in it...along with the instructor.

Whoa. I was not expecting that answer. Although, I have to admit that the fact that I hadn’t noticed him was totally baffling considering he looked like a Greek God. I must’ve had my mouth open because suddenly all of the other students stopped their distractions and started to pay attention to our interchange.

I think the fact that he was extremely handsome, not to mention cocky, meant that I had to get the upper hand on this situation immediately.

    Excuse me?

He smiled and the flash of white from his perfectly
