Wonder full informal and old fashioned. The ideas are good and relevant for the small farm, though even more tips are needed as it is now not possible to go to the village smith as occasionally suggested. The chapters on woodworking are better than those on metalworking. Though hardfacing of tools are covered. There are plenty of ideas if you are stuck with alot of wooden barrels.

I read the 1909 version; it provides a fascinating look into peoples' way of life back then. Some projects, I think, are still useful today.

this is a great reference book but I feel many of the project are beyond most people.
