Charlotte accompanied Brennan up to his room and watched as he settled in. She loved watching him move. He always seemed so comfortable in his own skin. Each movement was completely natural and fluid.

As if feeling her eyes on him, Brennan glanced over at her from where he was putting away his clothes in the dresser.

“What?” he asked.

“Nothing,” Charlotte shrugged. “I just love watching you.”

“You do, huh?”

He crossed the room and pulled her down onto the massive bed with him.

“You know what I said to you earlier today before I left?” he said.

“You said a couple of things to me before you left,” Charlotte teased.

“Okay, I’ll be more specific. I told you that I really wanted to kiss you. Do you remember that?”

“Uh-huh,” she said.

“I’d really like to do that now, if you don’t mind,” he said quietly.

Charlotte simply looked up at him with a very inviting look in her eyes. Brennan couldn’t help but think of that as a yes, and he smiled.
