Introduction

Disc Golf has been played basically the same way since the early 1970s.

The object of the game is to traverse a course from the beginning to the end in the fewest throws of the disc. The competitor who plays the stipulated round or rounds in the fewest throws plus penalty throws is the winner. (From the PDGA rules handbook).

We’d been playing disc golf for over ten years, and we were always looking for ways to make the game more fun (is that even possible?). When you play the same home course over and over again, any golf game can get a little stale. So we came up with some interesting variations to the game. What eventually came out of the mix was a game called 3T Revolution (3T Rev for short), which gave us more variety and a different way to score. And, as a bonus, it became a faster game as well; perfect for sneaking in a round without the boss catching on.

3T Revolution is disc golf unleashed. It’s the same skill set, but an alternative way to play and score. What follows is a handbook on 3T Revolution – what it is, how to play and score, variations and such.

This game is fast, challenging, and fun. Our hope is that it catches on. We are not looking to replace disc
