About this ebook

Court is in session; Wynn Garrett presiding.

America is being threatened from within as several high-level federal judges, sympathetic to the terrorists’ cause, conspire to use their position on the Court to aid their fellow Muslims. Thomas Wardahl and Richard Scorby, co-directors of the Anti-terrorist Operation, have other plans. Realizing the danger the judges pose to national security, they call their only operative, Wynn Garrett, into action. Always ready to defend America from any threat, Wynn conducts a slightly unconventional judicial review. But targeting judges turns out to be more difficult than it first seems.

    CHAPTER ONE

Made in China. Everywhere he looked in stores these days, that’s what he saw. Small hand tools, toys, bicycles, and now even furniture bore the offensive label. Nearly anything a guy wanted to buy was tagged with those three words. Thanks to a certain U.S. President in the seventies, trade with China had escalated, or descended depending on one’s perspective, to a multi-billion dollar quagmire of revolving debt.

The door to China was supposed to have opened a world of possibilities for both countries, transforming the global economy into a more stable and lucrative system. Certainly, it had changed things, but as he walked through the aisles of the department store, he failed to see any benefits, at least to America. Sure, the American consumer now had cheaper goods, but cheaper in price also meant cheaply made.

Products once made in America, built to last a lifetime, had now migrated to China, or other sub-par nations, where goods were manufactured to a bare minimum of standards. What used to be a one-time purchase could now easily require two, maybe even three or four trips to the store to replace the broken or faulty item. When the customer wised up and spent additional time and money to search out and purchase a comparable product stamped Made In USA, the cycle was broken. Such a search though, was becoming increasingly difficult. In the end, trade with China was actually costing Americans much more.

He decided the Chinese should stick to what they knew; bamboo huts, pagodas, and rice patties. That was about all they could do with any expertise. Okay, so they had invented paper, big deal! That was when? Way back in the Stone Age of the Ming Dynasty or something, near the beginning of time. Oh yeah, and fireworks. Don’t forget fireworks. Fireworks and paper, that was the Chinese’ claim to fame.

He grumbled to himself as he continued walking, That certainly qualifies them to be the world’s leading manufacturer of consumer goods, right?

He decided the only good things made in China these days were food and Kung Fu movies. But on second thought, he mused, even both of those are better if they’re made in America.

Exporting capitalism had been a noble gesture that had ultimately backfired on this country. The result was simply an additional opportunity to soak the so-called rich American consumer in a blatant and purposeful transfer of wealth.

He shook his head. He had no problem with other countries seeking freedom or incorporating a capitalistic free-market system in an effort to facilitate a better life for its citizens – as long as it wasn’t at the expense of America or its people. Let the other countries do it on their own, like the United States had done. In 1776, no super power government had existed to simply hand America her freedom or independence. As the saying goes, freedom isn’t free. It is something to fight for, it must be earned. Only through the struggle, is it acquired, appreciated, respected and understood.

Walking down the aisles of the store, he became more upset the more he thought about it. Every two-bit country arrogantly perceived it to be America’s duty to clothe, feed and protect them, and time after time to bail them out of each crisis.

And of course, we’re still supposed to provide the whole world with the latest technology and modern conveniences, he griped.

And like fools, the United States government went along with the idea. Case in point, China. With the advent of a new so-called capitalist China, more Chinese were able to purchase more products, which increased demand and raised the price. At the top of the list of things they were buying were automobiles. Millions of them were being sold in China as citizens there desperately tried to capture a bit of the American dream. With the additional vehicles in the world, the resulting greater demand for oil had caused prices to skyrocket. Again, hitting the pockets of the rich Americans. And China being a country whose population was quickly approaching one billion, there seemed to be no relief in sight.

Finally, as he turned down the next aisle, the man found what he’d come to buy, a flag. An American flag. One that said, Made In USA. The ultimate insult to America’s democracy and freedom was a flag, the symbol of liberty, bearing the words Made In China.

The stars and stripes proudly proclaimed America as the capital of freedom and everything that freedom entailed: equality, human rights, the free market, technology, manufacturing and opportunity. The American flag waved as a beacon signaling the triumph of capitalism over every other system. To outsource the manufacture of that flag was an affront to its very essence. The fact the country was China made it all the more reprehensible.

He paid for his flag and with a disgruntled scowl walked to his pickup. The process had taken three hours, five stores and who knew how many dollars worth of gas, but hey, he had his flag.

Parking the pickup in his driveway, he raised the new striped banner before going into the house. Stupid Comies anyway, he grumbled, tying the end of the rope. We spent years fighting Communism and now we embrace it.

Time had proven the forces of Communism were no match for America, neither militarily nor economically. But as the former leader of the Soviet Union had vowed, they now attacked from within. Assimilate and destroy, that was their motto. And recently, the radical Muslim culture had adopted the same tactic.

He looked up at the flag. Communists and Muslims, he muttered. There wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference in the two. Both were evil and oppressive forms of government that denied even the most basic rights to their citizens. Both consisted of hate-filled people who wanted to slaughter Americans and all Jews as a matter of course.

What was most deeply disturbing was that many Americans, including the country’s leaders, seemed quite content to let them: oblivious to the threat they posed. The new-age doctrine of tolerance, acceptance and political correctness demanded that terrorists be allowed to live unbothered and to freely conduct their veiled jihad. The tentacles of this warped mentality had wrapped their way through all cultural aspects, having now moved into the court system. Inept judges, sympathetic to the cause of Middle Eastern terrorists, increasingly ruled in their favor and against the security interests of the United States. A passive, weak-kneed breed of lawmakers seemed hell-bent on wiping out America’s freedoms, handing them over, one by one, to the once clearly recognized and identifiable enemies, known as terrorists.

Pacifist Democrats and spineless Republicans alike offered the same lame excuses. We don’t want to upset them, or, They may react with violence.

As if 9-11 wasn’t violent, he’d often retort. Of course, yelling at the TV wasn’t that effective a method of debate. It did however; allow him to vent his anger and frustration.

The fact was, and what everyone seemed afraid to say, the Muslim world hated the U.S., despised the dominance of America and the western culture. Their desire was to kill all Americans and destroy this country’s way of life. Nothing the United States did at this point would change the mind-set of these demented souls. Their mentality had been developing for thousands of years with each generation of Arabs being conditioned to detest the infidels, or Americans. These radicals must be defeated, not tolerated and not allowed to perpetuate their violence on America. Yet, it was allowed.

He sighed. Politicians simply couldn’t be that dumb. He really didn’t consider himself all that smart. He’d never studied political science, economics or government; he hadn’t even gone to college. So, if he could figure it out, the leaders of the free world certainly must know and understand what was going on. It wasn’t that complex or difficult.

Finally, heading into the house, he picked up the day’s newspaper from the step where it had lain since being tossed there early that morning. Although he subscribed to the paper, he didn’t really have that much use for the news media, whether in print, on TV or the radio. The biased coverage seemed to be nothing but an implement to serve the anti-American agenda. Strangely, though, he was almost obsessed by it. He liked to be informed, and even knowing over half of what he read was a lie, he couldn’t resist it.

Slipping off the rubber band, he unrolled the paper and settled back into his recliner. The glaring headline, sprawled across the front page instantly caught his eye.

Judge Rules In Favor Of Immigrants.

Curious, as always, he began to read the article.

A Federal Judge today, issued a ruling upholding undocumented immigrant’s right to

They are not undocumented immigrants, he spouted. They’re illegal aliens. Why can’t you morons figure out what illegal means? They broke the law to get here and they commit multiple felonies on a daily basis just by being here. They don’t pay taxes, yet they expect all the services and benefits of being an American. And now some stupid judge is granting more unwarranted rights to them. He took a deep breath to calm himself and continued reading.

the right to enter the United States without being molested or questioned. Judge Michael A. Bender, part of a three-judge panel, wrote in the opinion of the majority, "Immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, seeking a betterment of life; risking that life to join us in freedom, and our quest of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, have a reasonable expectation to not be challenged, confronted or otherwise hindered in their understandable endeavor to attain such freedom. Therefore, the rights of any person engaged in the act of entering or attempting to enter these United States should not be infringed.

The article further stated that the open-door policy decision would likely be appealed.

I would hope so, he railed. Is there not a shred of sanity left in this country?

    The article continued.

Already there is overwhelming opposition to this ruling by activist groups on all sides of the political spectrum. A spokesman for Americans For Legal Immigration said in a press conference, held in Washington, This is an open invitation to terrorists. It provides an easily accessible and unregulated entrance into this country. Today’s decision will undoubtedly be the cause of increased instances of terrorism in America.

Lawmakers in the past have been hesitant to confront this issue, but may now feel compelled to do so, as this ruling has sparked a fiery protest among many Americans.

While the decision is the current law of the land, it will almost certainly be on a fast track to the Supreme Court, where opponents are hopeful it will be overturned.

Eyes spitting fire, nostrils flared and chewing his lower lip, the man flung the newspaper to the floor. "Idiots! They’re all
