Chapter 1

An Awesome Introduction

Let me tell you a story about a guy named Alec the Awesome. Now, the very first thing you should know about Alec is that he’s incredibly awesome. I know you probably guessed that from his name, but it’s important enough that I thought I would point it out to you anyway.

How exactly is he awesome, you ask? Well, in just about every way you can think of. He’s super strong, he’s a super-fast runner, he can jump super high, and most importantly, he’s a super good fighter. He’s fought more monsters with his trusty sword, Raddior the Radical Render, than you can probably even imagine! This guy goes on adventures like they’re walks in the park. He lives, eats, and breathes danger wherever he goes. And I don’t know about you, but that makes him pretty darn awesome in my book.

He lives in a huge fortress up on a mountain. He wanted it to have a name that accurately conveyed how awesome it was, so he named it Fort Tigersplosion. That’s right, Tigersplosion. Like an explosion of tigers. I mean come on, can you think of anything more cool than that?

And I’ll tell you right now, it lives up to its name. It’s basically an enormous stone castle with sweet fire decals painted all over it. It’s covered in statues depicting all the awesome creatures in the world: tigers, dragons, bears, falcons, dragonbears, tigerfalcons, you name it and there’s a statue of it. Up on top you’ve got more of these statues along with catapults and cannons and stuff for defense, and one incredibly tall tower that just about reaches up into space. Surrounding Fort Tigersplosion is a moat filled with laser sharks (which, as you can guess, are sharks that shoot lasers from their eyes, which is very convenient for frying food before eating it).

But all that isn’t even the half of it. The best part about the fortress is most definitely the inside. Alec has every video game known to man, with a huge theater-sized screen to play them on. He has a comic book collection bigger than the largest library you’ve ever seen. Whole sections of the castle are devoted to interconnecting pools and water slides. The whole place is filled with more secret rooms and passages than you can count, and only Alec knows about all of them. There’s a burger joint, as well as an ice cream parlor and a pizza place, where you can get all the food you could possibly want. Want to race RC cars on a huge track? He’s got one.
