Author

Hector Bean

Hector Bean vehemently denies that his book series "A Dork Named Dodson" is based off of his own life, despite the fact that he wears enormous black-rimmed glasses and is a very large dork. When he isn't writing he enjoys going on walks to the mailbox and watching Star Trek: Voyager while eating chicken-fried steak.

    Chapter 1

    Another Day, Another Rad Adventure

It was a fine day at Fort Tigersplosion.  What, you’re saying you don’t know what Fort Tigersplosion is?  Well, if you read the book before this one, you know that Fort Tigersplosion is only one of the most awesome places on the planet.  It’s got everything you could ever want, including a laser tag arena, every video game ever created, and the best pizza and burger places you can imagine.  And of course on top of that, it’s just an enormous, rad castle covered in towers and catapults and awesome fire decals, with a tower at the top that’s so tall it basically reaches into space.

But there’s one reason in particular that Fort Tigersplosion is one of the most awesome places on the planet, and that reason is that it’s the home of one of the most awesome people on the planet.  Heck, he might even be the very raddest.  I wouldn’t be surprised.  And that person, of course, is a dude named Alec the Awesome.

Again, just in case you haven’t read the previous book yet (which you totally should, right now), Alec is one rad dude.  He’s an expert warrior, and he’s been on more amazing adventures than even he can count (and he can count pretty high, because he’s also quite good at math).  He can run super-fast, jump super far, beat the first Super Mario Brothers with his eyes closed, and his life is completely and utterly packed to the brim with pure, unfiltered awesome.

On this particular day he was on the top of his castle, playing fetch with Blaster.  Blaster is his trusty, faithful dogragon (half dog, half dragon).

Are you ready, boy? he asked the dogragon in an excited voice, holding up a stick.  Are you ready?

Blaster stood in front of him, his rear shaking back and forth from the wagging of his spiky tail.  He barked happily, as though willing Alec to throw the stick.

Okay, Alec said, "then go get it!"  Alec threw the stick as hard as he could and it went flying over the side of the castle.  Blaster took to the air immediately, and jetted toward the stick like a rocket.  He tucked in his wings and dove after it as it fell, shooting through the air with impossible speed.  Finally he snatched it up in his
