 Natalie! You're going to be late! Get your butt down here!

Coming, Mom! I yell as I shove my homework into my bag. I start sprinting towards the stairs, but just as I get there, I fall backwards, riding the stairs like a bull. Except ten times more painful. I start sliding down the stairs, my butt getting more and more sore.

Ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-uuugh, I groan loudly from the dark brown, wooden floor. I brush off my worn-down jeans and stand up, bruises all over my body. I glance at my worried mother.

What is that? Five times?

 It’s the sixth I say, grabbing the brown lunch bag from her hands. Yeah, that's right. I've done that multiple times.

I still can't believe I have such a beautiful daughter, Mom says, pulling me into a hug.

Is it my brown hair and eyes? I ask, still smooshed in the hug. Mom lets me go, ignoring my question.

I packed your favorite PB and J, also some Fun Chips. Get it? Oh, forget it, she mumbles as I run out the door.

I sigh, looking at the bright yellow school bus parked in front of me. Why did we move here again? Oh yeah, Dad's job. Did we have to move here though? I mean I had to leave behind all my friends. Sigh. Now I have to start all over again.

Kid, we don’t have time for your wandering. Get on the bus, says the bus driver, opening the door.

Sorry, I say, taking a spot at the front. I haven't been invited to the back seats yet.
