Can you imagine having a monster for a friend? Not a pretend monster, but a real one. I have to tell you it is AWESOME! This is my story of how I came to have a little red monster friend called Boris....
My name is Bob, my friends always call me Bobby. Mom and Dad call me Bob when I’m in trouble, and Mom calls me Boo Boo Bear at home. This is really annoying and embarrassing, especially when my friends are around. After all, I’m in Grade 4 now, I’m almost a teenager!
Dad is a teacher at my school. His name is Mr. Campbell and the kids all really like him, except for Jack. Jack is a bully! Jack is not nice! And Jack gives me a hard time!
I have a secret friend called Boris. He says I am the best friend he has ever had! He makes me laugh and he looks after me, but sometimes he gets me into some strange situations. You see, most of the time, I am the only one who can see Boris, and he is a real monster.
I think it is pretty special that nobody else can see Boris. They can smell him, and hear his noises (things like farts, hiccups and burps), but they can’t hear him talking or see him. At first I told my best friends about Boris, but when they couldn’t see him, they just looked at me and laughed.
I know you won’t think
