    Mosquitoes by William Faulkner was first published in 1927. The book was published by Boni and Liverlight publishing house in New York.

    It is a satiric novel. Mosquitoes is William Faulkner’s second published novel. It is often said that the author wrote the novel while he was living in Paris, however, there is another opinion that he wrote the novel in Pascagoula, Mississippi in the summer of 1926.

    There is a unanimous opinion among writers and critics that the content and the setting of Mosquitoes clearly suggest that Faulkner was personally involved in the New Orleans creative community where he had spent a fair amount of time before going to France. The setting and the content suggest that the book was written in the United States.

    The two main settings for the novel are the city of New Orleans and a yacht on Lake Pontchartrain.
