About this ebook

There is an extreme shortage of common sense in today’s world, not only today, but looking back in history, this has always been a problem, Benjamin Franklin once said,”Of all the senses, common sense seems to be the one that is used the least.”
As obvious as it may seem, many seem to totally oblivious to it. Most if not all of the problems the world faces today could be solved if people would just sit back and think about what would seem to be the most obvious and simple solution to any issue. Often times people tend to over complicate the issues, when a easy and simple solution should be obvious.
I often think back to what my parents and grandparents believed and said, at the time I thought they were totally out of their mind and ignored it. I now wish I would have listened and followed their advice more often.
It is now evident they were a lot smarter than we gave them credit for. Many times, in today’s world, the schools and universities can no longer be counted on to teach truth and values that will guide someone through life.
Their teachings have become convoluted and are no longer sensible. Because so many have lost sight of the basic universal truths ,they think these truths no longer apply. Mention age old values and many people would have no idea what you were talking about.
We can not keep teaching beliefs that are not based on solid time worn principles that have endured the test of time. The laws of Nature and/ or Nature’s God cannot be denied without serious consequences. They are unbendable and unbreakable.
It is in this light I have decided to publish some of my random thoughts based on the views of our ancestors. The following chapters follow no particular order of importance.
Changing our thinking could change our perspective and thus change the direction we are headed. If no one listens, then the future of our planet and humanity are destined for disaster.

Gary Wonning

Growing up on a dairy farm  in rural  southeastern Indiana ,Gary was  raised in a conservative Christian environment and looked forward to a life much like his ancestors had lived.  The two car garage, white picket fence and 2.5 kids was his life’s dream. Due to some twists of fate his life changed suddenly and a different path was taken.   At this time,he began to question everything he was brought up to believe, his political views, his religious and spiritual beliefs and every value society places on us as members of the human race. During his Vision Quest, which lead him to Egypt, Australia, the Canary Islands, Belize and most of the United States, he reevaluated and examined everything he believed in.   Having always had an interest in things of a spiritual and esoteric nature this was without question  a predetermined path. Through and because of his interest in photography he was able to study and document many ancient cultures throughout the world, in particular the Australian Aborigine, the Maya, and the Ancient Egyptians.   Although his travels have changed his perception of life and many of the spiritual values he once held, one belief remains unchanged.   His belief in the basic conservative core values of life that have been carried down through the ages from time immemorial. Those same core values that led to the founding of our great country and are instilled in our sacred documents, The Bill of Rights, The Declaration of Independence, and the United States Constitution.   His belief in a Supreme Being or God have not faltered. In spite of this, he has found there is much more to life than conventional wisdom leads us to believe.   Time and time again history has shown that when a people or civilization fall from a belief in their God and basic common sense values, their way of life ceases to be. Let’s not let that happen to us. To contact Gary: www.journeysthrulife.com. Email: journeysthrulife@gmail.com.

    Chapter 1

    Free Will

There are always outside influences that you feel you simply cannot control. It is how one reacts to these circumstances that determine the final outcome. It is these choices that determine our success or failure. Everything happens for a reason and seemingly on a physical level we don't seem to be able to control our reality, however on some subconscious level, we choose to participate in every event that comes our way. We may not be aware of it, but that is how the universe works.

It's called free will, and it plays a part in every facet of our lives. You simply can't have free will only in certain areas of your life. If we have free will to choose our professions and a mate, then we also have free will as to when we are born, who our parents are, and when we die. Free Will is an absolute truth! It doesn't come and go with the wind.

Because of this, it can be difficult to make sense out of life when seemingly harmful and destructive events come our way. Understanding why they came our way, what we can learn from them because of the knowledge we gain from having the experience. How do we move above them and create a better life for us and those around us.

I believe there is some sort of universal common sense. In other words, events evolve according to a natural order, certain rules apply that cannot be changed. These are God's laws or the natural order of things. For example, if you live by a high set of moral standards, your life will naturally be better than if your life is filled with drugs, alcohol and otherwise bad behavior. Develop a good financial plan and financial rewards will come to pass. Break these universal (God's) laws and disaster will follow.

Living by God’s Law doesn’t guarantee a so-called perfect life, but life will be better, and easier than if the Laws of
