About this ebook

If you want to learn about the subject of "faith", why read a human's narrative on the subject? Go straight to the source for accurate instruction. "Faith" is a comprehensive compilation of Bible verses which speak about the subject of faith. It was intended to be used as a quick reference book for personal devotion and research . The verses contained in this book were pulled from the New King James Version of the Bible, and it is as comprehensive as my Bible search program could provide. There is no narrative in this book, it is nothing but pure scripture, arranged in the order of the books in the Bible.

R. C. Gibbons is the author of a series of poetry gift books, a series of children's stories, is a short story writer, and magazine publisher. He has had freelance articles published in the regional magazine Waterfront Living, as well as the magazine Ermak while living in Russia. Much of the inspiration for his writing comes from personal experiences while traveling extensively throughout the world.R. C. Gibbons was born in Andalusia, Alabama and spent his early childhood there prior to moving with his family to Dothan, Alabama, Jackson, and Clinton, Mississippi and finally to Tallahassee, Florida while in high school. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and spent twelve years serving his country in the Intelligence field. It was during this military phase of his life that he developed a love for travel and adventure. He traveled to many countries surrounding the Mediterranean Sea in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, North Africa, and the Caribbean. His experiences with many different cultures and peoples of the world have shaped his style of writing and the adventures he experienced form the background for many of his stories. R. C. Gibbons likes to call his style of writing "factual fiction", and likes to base his stories on real life places and events so that if someone were to visit a place he has written about, they could say "I recognize this".As far as poetry is concerned, R. C. Gibbons approaches his poetry with no light attitude. He tries to tell a story, make a point, or describe something, with every poem that he writes, and also goes to great lengths to make it structurally correct. That, in his opinion, is what separates those who are serious about writing and those who do it for fun. It is not difficult for someone to make up a few lines that rhyme, but it is sometimes really difficult to create a metrically correct poem. Even poetry that seems lighthearted and easy to read is sometimes very difficult to write. The effort that was put into the writing is what creates the easy to read result. After earning an Honorable Discharge from the military, with many military action medals, R. C. Gibbons settled in Panama City, Florida where, with the exception of several short side trips to other locations including a year stay in Russia, he resides today. The first three books of the R. C. Gibbons' Poetry Gift Book series to be published are titled Fields For The Mind To Wander, Hearts Released, and The Magical and Mysterious Sea, but there are others that will follow.

    Introduction

This compilation of Bible verses was created to be a single, quick reference to what I believe is the one of the single most important aspects of Christian life. It is nothing more than a compilation of verses, meaning, I did not write them. These verses were taken directly from the New King James Version of the Bible.

There are thousands of books on the market that have been written by man with his interpretation of what the scripture says, but this is not one of them. I have chosen to use the New Kings James Version for this book because it is closely based on the original King James Version with only slight modern language changes being made and I personally read this version better.

So why create this compilation if all it has is copied verses? Really, the only reason was to create a quick reference where one could read specifically about the subject of Faith. Recently I found myself in a mood to read all that the Bible had to say about the subject of Faith, but I found it was a daunting task. The act of continually flipping back to references to find the next verse and then having to look it up was taking a long time. I thought how nice it would be to have all of the verses in one location to be read one after the other, with no flipping of pages, so here it is! That was my only motivation for putting this together. I figured if I was interested in having a book like this, then someone else probably will be interested in it too!

This compilation is not broken up into chapters or anything like that, other than the fact that I have quick links to the various books of the Bible and the Old and New Testament sections. I did this so that it would be easy to stop at a certain point and find that spot again later. Other than that, it is simply one verse after the next for ease of reading. One word of note though, there are some differences in the various versions of the Bible, and therefore, some verses that contain the word Faith in other versions may not be included in this compilation. Unfortunately, I had to draw a line somewhere to find an end to the number of verses I would have to include.

You might find it interesting though that there are very few uses in the Old Testament of the word Faith. The predominate variation to this word in the Old Testament is the word Faithful, and vice versa in the New Testament.

I do want to give one more bit of advice on how to use this reference book. No matter which verse you research in the Bible, or which version of the Bible that you use to research it, don't pick one verse alone, and base all of your understanding on it. You cannot accurately understand the Bible if you pick and choose the verses that contain only the word you are searching for. You must read all of the verses surrounding a particular verse to get the correct understanding of how that word is being used, in context to what the passages surrounding it are talking about. You have to get the big picture. You cannot pick up a novel and read two verses out of it, and then claim to understand the entire story. The same remains true for the Bible. This is a quick reference book, and what you should do, if you really want to understand correctly, what a verse is saying, is go to that verse in the Bible and read the text surrounding it.

I hope you enjoy reading and find this compilation handy.
