About this ebook

Things change, new stuff is learned, people are looking online for solutions to the communication problem. In view of this, I have revised and updated my book "Helping You Talk to the World". In it you'll find a lot more tips and advice to make language learning easy and do it on your own terms.

A second section focuses on teachers. It outlines the method and the classroom environment that I have used since 1987 to help others learn a new language quickly and easily all within a 6 month period. The information can also be useful for the learner.

Other updates include using today's digital world to your advantage in learning, and how to increase your language skills and boundaries 100% more than before! Plus, the section on setting up a classroom environment has been expanded to get even more out of your student's capabilities. Any future updates will be posted here, so please come back to see what's new.

Why is it important to learn a language?

Good question. We are not obligated to learn any language. But things have changed in the past 100 years. The ability to communicate with those in other countries is something not to be ignored. In order to be economically competitive, more Americans are interested in studying languages than ever before.

According to Wikipedia, Vistawide.com and other websites and organizations, the top ten spoken languages around the world are:

    Chinese

    Spanish

    English

    Hindi

    Arabic

    Portuguese

    Bengali

    Russian

    Japanese

    Punjabi

And the top ten online languages are:

    English

    Chinese

    Spanish

    Arabic

    Portuguese

    Indonesian

    French

    Japanese

    Russian

    German

Learning to communicate in another language will open the door to many millions, or billions of people around the world, and it builds a bridge to other languages for further communications.

In the next few pages, I’ll show you how to set up the classroom and help maximize the student’s skills in learning a language.

The Facts to Support Language Learning

    Languages are everywhere

When you look around, it's getting more and more difficult to ignore the spread of all these languages. Bank ATMs offer instructions in multiple languages; the Yellow Pages have foreign language editions. Packaging for most products are multilingual. You even use them when you want to go out to eat. Have you eaten fajitas with jalapeños and queso? How about tandoori?

In the larger cities, you can get television news and programs in hundreds of languages. Subscription services like Netflix, Hulu or VUDU have movies and shows you can watch in dozens of languages. Going online? YouTube has thousands of videos to let you practice your language skills.

    Education and the Economy

A couple centuries ago, people had to educate themselves to keep up with the changes to the industrial world. Today, it’s the digital world. Communications around the world are happening instantly. New technologies are keeping us busy trying to figure out how to communicate without a problem. People need to be educated in language to keep up with today’s world. The demand for language courses are increasing every day.

    Book 1 - Introduction

Learning a language is a highly individual process and consists of a combination of factors of which the most important one is you, the learner. Let me ask you a question: What do you think motivates successful language learners?

    Word lists?

    Grammar books?

    Audio CDs or DVDs?

    Good intentions?

In reality, those choices are not the best choices in learning a language. In order to successfully learn a new language, you need to have:

    Motivation to learn

    Self–confidence

    A positive attitude

Ask yourself these questions before you start:

What are my reasons for learning the new language?

How important is it for me to learn it?

What have I found about the people who speak that language?

    How
