    Chapter 1: Introduction

The most common types of skin anomalies are acne, moles and warts. While acne typically occurs at puberty, moles and warts can develop at any age and may cause anxiety and discomfort. Our common reaction is that we want to get rid of them as soon as possible. However, you should never feel victimized by any such skin anomaly, it happens to just about everybody at some stage of their lives.

In this book, I will explain why these skin anomalies occur and what causes them. You will then learn about the methods that are available and recommended for curing yourself of these anomalies and also how to prevent them developing in the first place.

You should also be aware that our society has inherited a lot of myths and fables about causes and remedies, some of which clearly belongs in the realm of ancient folklore. You have probably heard that warts are caused by physically handling a frog or toad. Leave the poor frog in peace; it has absolutely nothing to do with your wart.

    Chapter outline

This book has three separate chapters, dealing with wart, moles and acne respectively. The remedies outlined are those provided by medical specialists, most commonly a dermatologist and these are followed by what I have called home remedies. These include the type of pharmaceutical products that you can buy without a doctor’s prescription and how to use and apply these. The milder forms of acne, moles and warts can be successfully treated and cured by home remedies while more severe cases need the services of a medical specialist.
