About this ebook

We’re all mad here.
~The Cheshire Cat

When Cheris McDowell wakes up in a hotel room next to the husband she doesn’t remember meeting, she decides the only practical solution is a quiet divorce.

Too bad the rest of the world disagrees.

As an Internet advice guru, Cheris ought to know how to fix the mess she woke up to, but when her own web master conspires to keep the marriage going, Cheris is at a loss.

Geoff Arrowood III, her new husband, isn’t helping the situation. He’s way too charming and looks a little too good in a Tuxedo.

Will Cheris choose a little storybook madness or the sensible advice of the wisdom she’s followed all her life?

Reviewed by Amie LouReview copy provided by Turquoise Morning PressCheris McDowell has her life in order. She's got a great apartment, a great job, and great friends—one of which needs her support at a local art show. The only problem is the Alice In Wonderland display and the handsome man in the tuxedo who “double dog dares” Cheris to eat the piece of cake in the exhibit. It’s only cake, right? Wrong! And when Cheris wakes up the next morning…in a hotel room…wearing only the hunky stranger’s shirt and a wedding ring, she hightails it back home. Only to discover the eye candy in the tux is Geoff Arrowood, her best friend’s brother, and he’s not as keen on getting a divorce as she is. But workaday Cheris doesn’t fit in with the high-class Arrowoods despite the fact that Geoff seems reluctant to let her go. Now Cheris has to convince her friend, her husband and his all-too-happy-to-welcome-her-to-the-fold family that they aren’t and never will be a couple. And with any luck she can do this before she loses her heart to her danged-near perfect, spur-of-the-moment husband. I love a marriage of convenience story. Nothing keeps two people together like that little piece of paper. Throw in some meddling family members, and you have a hit on your hands. But what does Double Dog Dare have that other similar stories don't? An all too willing groom. Told from Cheris’s point of view, the reader doesn’t get a clear glimpse into Geoff’s motivations right off the bat, but has to wait and let them reveal themselves as the story progresses. Double Dog Dare is a charming read filled with memorable characters, lots of laughs, and tons of fun.
