About this ebook

“Barney, will you come here for a moment?” Granny Rabbit asked her grandson as she was grooming herself. “I would like you and the other youngsters to take a nap.”
“A NAP!” repeated Barney. “Granny! I don’t take an afternoon nap anymore! I’m too big now!” protested the young rabbit. “Yes, I know. But tonight you must be well rested and awake for the Special Celebration.” She explained.
Barney’s eyes grew open so wide that they looked as if they would pop right out of his head.
“What’s that? Is it a Party? Who’s coming?... how long is it going to be? How late can I stay up? Can we go right now?”
Granny laughed as she interrupted his excited questioning.
“Oh, it’s much better than a party; it’s a “Celebration!” – And, No! We cannot go right now because it doesn’t start until the moon has risen to a certain point in the sky...

Author

Michelina "Marge" Balsamo

At 80 years of age old, to write a biography I would have to write another book! Suffice to say, I feel that my true claim to fame are my 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandsons. But if one would like to know, I was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1934, I was known as “little Margie” by family and friends. Like most woman in my day, school, marriage, and starting my family was the beginning of my adult life. As an adult my professional experience included being an entrepreneur and corporate management. Always having had a love for reading, I did not realize my true passion until my fifth grandchild was born in 1986. And then it was truly by accident - the writing, that is,- not the grandchild. One cold February afternoon, while babysitting for my 2 year old granddaughter Kristen, she turned to me and said “Grandma, tell me a story”. And thus was born the series "Life in the Great Green Forest".
