I just finished reading this story to two of my granddaughters as part of our nightly routine. Both girls (6 and 11) enjoyed the story very much and are looking forward to the next story in the series. I found the story to be very well-written and easy to read. I read the story ahead of time (as I do for all of the ones I read to them) and found it very enjoyable. I am 71 years old and have been reading since I was 6. I will normally average between 250 and 400 books every year. I am not looking for deep, philosophic themes in my books but for the kids I do like a moral, G-rated story and this one was right on. I am looking for enjoyment. I am also reading another book of Robert Thornhill in his Lady Justice series and I enjoy it very much. Bill Megenity

DEDICATION

To my two grandchildren, Blake and Breonna Batchelor.

At the end of his second grade school year, Blake’s assignment was to write a book.

His story was about a rainbow, a leprechaun, and a pot of gold.

That little story, born in the imagination of an eight-year old, was the inspiration for this Rainbow Road series of children’s books.

I have discovered that kids do have special powers, the power to capture the heart of an old man.

SUPER SECRETS OF RAINBOW ROAD

CHAPTER 1

Blake and Breonna’s mother was about to go nuts.

It had been raining steadily for three days and with school being out for the summer, the kids had been cooped up inside.

Eight-year old Blake loved to test his skills on his Wii console, build star cruisers with his Legos and surf the internet for new computer games, but after three soggy days, he had run out of stuff to do.

Likewise, six-year old Breonna had dressed and re-dressed every doll, made cookies in her Magic Bake Oven and read all her library books.

Now, it seemed, the only thing left to do was torment each other.

Their mother, Wendy, was in the kitchen making toasted cheese sandwiches for their lunch when she heard a commotion in the playroom.

Aruuuuugh! Crash! Crunch!

Then she heard the pitiful wail of little Breonna.

Mom! Blake has destroyed my tea party with his stupid transformer!

Blake Edward! Mom said. (She always used his middle name when he was in trouble). Why must you aggravate your little sister?

Aww, Mom. I’m bored.

How could you possibly be bored with all this stuff?

But I’ve already done all this stuff.

Just then, a funny smell and black smoke came from the direction of the kitchen.

Oh no! Wendy shrieked. The toasted cheese sandwiches! Just wait till your dad gets home.

OOPS!

Blake and Breonna’s dad is a doctor and usually the kids could hardly wait for him
