I want this book to be a functional “how-to” guide for someone new to Yellowstone to get into the backcountry and go fishing without spending a ton of money. I want to save you several hours of research and give you some practical advice I’ve learned over the last five years.

I’m not going to show you how to fish or tell you exactly where the great fishing holes are. That would ruin your trip! What I will tell you is how to setup a great trip that will be a life-long memory...actually catching the fish is up to you.

In this guide you’ll find a section about the seasons of the park and how they match the calendar for those who aren’t familiar with the climate and weather of Yellowstone National Park. If you are not familiar with the seasons in the Rocky Mountains, you need to read that section to make sure you know what kind of weather you’re in for during your trip.

You’ll read about how to setup your trip-of-a-lifetime fishing in the Yellowstone Backcountry. You’ll read about the most efficient and most cost-effective ways to get to the park, how to reserve a campsite and why you should spend the $20 to do it. After that, you’ll read about a few specific trips that are designed for the angler of any capability, beginner or advanced. That section has details about each trip.
