The Lake Coleridge Fishing Competition and how to win it

“The fish pulled ferociously, bending my rod deeply. Then it turned and ran straight back towards me. Oh no! I stripped line fast, and caught a glimpse of a big brown hen heading for the snag underwater. The fish went into the snag and I could feel it pushing through, and then emerging out the other side, and my heart was in my throat, my jaw clenched. Another kick and then the line went slack, and the bottom fell out of my stomach. I reeled back in, fly gone, and the lake was as flat as my mood. That could have been a competition winning fish, and it had beaten me.”

It was November 2016 and I needed some new fishing gear. I saw a poster for the Lake Coleridge Fishing Competition, and read that Hunting and Fishing Tower Junction was offering a prize of fishing gear for the biggest fish, as well as many other prize
