Dale was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and had moved with his family, to Wisconsin at an early age. Since that time he has been a lifetime resident of Wisconsin residing in Fox Valley, which consist of the cities of Neenah, Menasha, and Appleton. He has been married for forty-five years and has three children and ten grandchildren.
When not fishing or writing, Dale volunteers at many of the local schools demonstrating such things as: Fishing secrets, How to make maple syrup, and How to build snowshoes for under $10. He loves freshwater fishing, ice fishing, snowshoeing, deer hunting, small game hunting, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, hiking and kayaking. In his” spare” time he builds Cedar strip kayaks, Stand-up paddleboards, as well as Rustic pine log furniture, built from trees he planted twenty years ago. Dale also does wood relief carving, as well as Leather art burning. Dale also has a small maple syrup farm in northern Wisconsin.
He and his bride of 45 yrs are “Cruisers”. They have been to such places as the Panama Canal, Nova Scotia, and 10 trips to Alaska. They also have travelled throughout all 50 of the United States.view less
