    Foreword

Several years ago I attended a general contractor’s meeting with all the contractors and subcontractors for a major commercial construction project. Timelines, tasks and subtasks were discussed. Deliverables were discussed. The project was one immense team effort to complete the project on time. One of the supervisors responsible for sealing and coating the floors asked the general contractor, What’s the standard to apply? My thought was that of course a high standard should apply. But there was more to his question. The supervisor was really asking what the expectations were and he was looking for concrete answers. This is exactly how you should approach your reading of these quotes. Set expectations to be the best you can be.

Most of the quotes in this book are from me. Those that are not are designated as such. There are important questions you need to ask yourself as you read and reflect and apply these quotes to your life. Some of these questions may be:

Are you asking of yourself concrete questions about improving your finances, your marriage, your health, your relationships and your spiritual life?

What is the standard you apply when leading your life?

What expectations of yourself do you have?

Are you taking responsibility for your life decisions?

Are you making corrections along the way?

When you fail or fall behind, do you get right back up, dust yourself off and continue with your worthy life goals?

Do you ask tough life questions?

Do you have the courage to change for the better if it is a struggle to do so?

Are you willing to strive for true happiness and fulfillment?

Can you apply one quote a day to your life and something to improve upon?
