    Chapter One

Mathew was stuck in rush hour traffic between school and his Med-Surgical clinical. Most days he would wait it out but today he woke up late and left little room for errors like this one.

He was in a state of near panic as the hour drew near. Mrs. Clark didn’t care if he had an excuse or not. If he wasn’t on time, he got marked down and passing clinical was much more difficult than any part of his nursing school up until this point. It was like the nursing teachers wanted to thin the students. The instructors looked for any weakness and didn’t allow mistakes.

    He understood why.
