About this ebook

Just go for it...

Westley Stone didn’t expect to survive being kidnapped and tortured by hunters, but he did, and only because a dragon literally dropped out of the sky to save him, and after waking up in the man’s house, he can’t help but feel grateful, and very attracted to his rescuer.

Chris Knucker has a thing against werewolves ever since his family was killed, but he’s willing to put old fears aside for the handsome man he’s just saved. The problem is that Westley seems a little shy to his advances, which makes sense when Chris discovers that Westley has to get married and produce a little of wolf pups for his pack.

That’s fine. Chris knows the other man won’t go through with it, so it’s just a matter of waiting him out, and since Chris is the pack hero for saving Westley’s life, he has all the access he needs to slowly wear down Westley’s defenses. When Westley does finally come to him, he reveals another reason why he held back, something that could make them both very happy if only Westley can put his trust in Chris.

Author's Note: This is a prequel to a longer, M/F dominant book titled The Legend of the Werewolf, to show how the two characters Westley and Chris met and fell in love. While there is a short resolution to the main character's immediate problem (i.e, they will decide to be together and fight for their HEA) the rest of their story will be told in its longer counterpart.

There was not a real plot to be found in this book, more of a heap of scenes where nothing important happens. Even the ending was lackluster and inconclusive: nothing get's solved! So frustrating! I've read shorter books with a complete plot, so it should not be impossible... Or is this a prologue for the real story?

Chapter One

Westley’s neck snapped to the side, his eye blinding with pain from the punch he'd just taken. His whole body jerked with the force, and he would’ve been pulled down with it had it not been for the two pairs of hands that kept him in place and on his knees.

His head lolled, the world swimming around him as his face dripped fluids. He could barely think, and was close to passing out. Fuck, if only he would!

A big hand fisted his hair and pulled his head up, steadying his world enough for him to look into the cold eyes of one of the hunters who’d had him. He was the oldest in the group, but that was only obvious by the sharp grays salted through his oiled black hair. Their leader.

Tell us where you live. Just give us the addy’s of a few of your pack mates, and I’ll send you on your way.

Dad—

Be quiet, boy, the old man said without taking his eyes away from Westley.

Westley had secretly always wondered when this would happen to him, when a hunter would see him, know what he was, and then capture him. Westley’s crescent moon birthmark, the mark that identified any werewolf who was born rather than turned, sat on his right cheek, like a neon sign for anyone who knew what it meant, flashing the words, Here I am. Come and get me.

Why it couldn’t have been on his back, his leg, or even hidden under his hair was something he’d always wondered about. Somewhere it could be easily hidden. But no, the fucking thing was on his face.

He’d always imagined that if a hunter saw him and tried something, he would fight them off, kill them, and then dispose of the bodies before returning home. He even imagined the glory of fighting to the death, defending himself and taking any hunters with him. He’d never imagined to be taken so easily.

Well, maybe not so easily. Westley had fought; he’d given one of the two men behind him a busted lip and a bruised eye before he’d been overcome by their numbers and bashed over the head until everything went black.

When he’d woken up, he took the time to look into all of their faces, listen to their conversations, and learn their names, so that when he escaped he’d have accurate descriptions of all of them, something the vampire and werewolf communities could really use considering these fucks were selling werewolf pelts and vamp teeth for profit.

Nathaniel, the one whose face he’d practically cracked in half, held his one arm while his brother, Raphael, held the other. Nathaniel snickered every time his father, Elijah, delivered a hard blow to Westley’s face.

Elijah, Nathaniel, Raphael. Jesus, were these guys just trying to look badass or overly religious with the fake names?

Hunters weren’t always smart, but they never gave away their real names. Ever. Otherwise there would be enough vampires and werewolves out hunting them.

But even if their names were Tom, Dick, and Harry, battle scars, and muscles lined with tattoos of crosses and wolf paws made these guys pretty fucking scary.

One cross for every vampire de-fanged and killed. One wolf paw for every werewolf skinned alive. There was only one man among them who wasn’t wearing a paw or a set of fangs. Either he was new, or he sympathized.

The kid with the gotee, Ezekiel, seemed the most uncomfortable about the entire situation. He stood some distance away, the lookout, trying to keep his eyes away from what his family was doing. Guy couldn’t be older than sixteen, and as far as Westley could tell, he had the fewest tattoos.

It would have been interesting had Westley not given up hope that he was going to get out of here alive, making all the info he’d learned useless.

An open palm slapped his crescent moon cheek, snapping him back to the present.

Don’t pass out on me, son. Elijah opened a jug of water and dumped the contents over Westley’s head. He inhaled with the shock of the cold but just took in water up his
