About this ebook
I wrote a book in 2005 called ‘The Active Creative Child” (Hohm Press.) It is primarily about parenting highly energetic, creative children. Over the years, as my children have grown, I have had the wonderful experience of participating in life as a California parent. Here in the SF Bay area, one can’t be PC enough, tech enough or smart enough. Parents rush to put their children in designer preschools while looking for sales at Banana Republic Kids. Five year olds get $100.00 manicures while being cared for by one of their family nannies. Organic living is next to godliness, and if you don’t mulch you’re a horrible person. One must bow before the alter of recycling and NPR, and never let anyone see a Cheetoh being eaten.
I have a family of fur children. Cleo, Linus and Zoey are the cats. Erica is the Golden retriever. I have noticed that certain “looks” of theirs exemplify certain feeling states. These feeling states are attached to mainly true events I have witnessed. So, a book was born. Meant to amuse and perhaps enlighten (aren’t we all so silly?), I wish to impart peace to those parents who are just trying to get by. Enjoy yourselves.
And if you are afraid of being judged by the parenting elite? Watch them at your next pot luck, they’ll be the ones in the corner wolfing down the bacon wrapped appetizers before anyone notices.

Foreword-
In 2005, I published a book called The Active Creative Child
(print, Hohm Press)
The parenting process is something I have lived (two sons) with hilarity, frustration and
humility. ‘The Active Creative Child" centered on my life with one son and his zest for creativity which manifested into boundless energy.
Through the parenting process I have encountered many other people in the same boat as I. Which school is the best? Is organic really better than non organic? This inner commentary was percolating in the California Bay Area. The home to top flight universities, computer baby geniuses and political correctness. Having a lack of interest in and not being able to economically join their world
, I found myself a voyeur of the uber cool and self-absorbed
