As she delicately pressed down on the gas pedal, Chelsea Corbin drummed her fingertips against the steering wheel of her car, annoyed with the seemingly incessant traffic coming from the other way.

Hurry up! she said to no one in particular, impatient to get to the fire station and then her lecture.

Her brother Adrian worked at the local fire department, and he had forgotten to take his lunch today, so she had decided to be a good sister and drop it off for him. She grabbed the brown paper bag that contained Adrian’s lunch from next to her, and then strode to the main garage door of the firehouse. It was wide open, and he was lying under one of the trucks, investigating something.
