Rita Chaney
Rita Chaney grew up in Decatur, Illinois in the midst of corn and soybean fields. She is the youngest of six children and has four sisters and one brother. Her siblings kept her busy playing tag, baseball, and hide-and-seek during the summers and having snowball fights in the winters. Reading books as a youngster was a favorite pastime for Rita. She was especially pleased when her father brought home a stack of comics from the second-hand shop downtown. Rita’s writing skills were first noticed by friends and family when she won second place in a short-story writing contest sponsored by the local newspaper as a sophomore in high school. Rita attended Millikin University where she earned a bachelors’ degree in Psychology and Sociology. She subsequently was awarded a masters’ degree in Clinical Psychology from Illinois State University. Serving as a counselor/therapist in the mental health field for over 25 years sharpened Rita’s clinical skills and penchant for details. Her desire to produce non-academic writing pieces increased after college, so she began writing for Yahoo and other websites. She was eventually recruited to ghostwrite web content, including articles and e-books. Rita has recently written e-books published using her own name and has plans to write (at least) a few more of them covering a wide range of topics. Rita and her husband, Bill, reside on the Southwest Gulf Coast of Florida where they walk, spend time with family, and dream about writing the great American novel.

Introduction
Have you ever considered that believing you have money isn’t so much about earning lots of money as it is about how you relate to and feel about it? And if that’s true, then thinking you’re poor is also a result of your relationship to the almighty dollar. Many people choose to believe certain facts
about their money and how they manage it. Living a life that’s free of worries and anxieties about money is possible, if you remove all mental obstacles and develop, once and for all, a healthy relationship with your finances.
Subjects Covered in this Book
This book will educate you about the different ways people feel about, think about, and relate to money. It will encourage you to reflect on where you learned about money management and to be more conscious about how that education affects the ways you handle your dollars today.
You’ll learn about developing awareness and a keen consciousness about how you manage money and identify what you believe about it. I’ll ask you to reflect on your relationship with your finances and give you some ideas about how to change that relationship for the better. In terms of your spending habits, you’ll be prompted to take a look at how you spend your hard-earned cash and I’ll suggest what to consider before making a purchase.
You’ll learn how to work to change your beliefs about yourself in relation to your dollars. And I’ll educate you about how to recognize challenging patterns in your thinking when it comes to your finances. Doing all these things will help you ultimately alter an unhealthy relationship with money for the better. If you put your mind to it, you can enjoy a healthy money relationship and live a life of accomplishment, security, and joy.

Have you ever known a couple who consistently complain, We don’t have any money
? A hypothetical couple, Darcy and Dan, state to their friends, Sue and Sam, Gosh, you’re so lucky to be taking a trip. We can’t afford a vacation.
Yet your observation of Darcy and Dan is that they’re driving newer, gas-guzzling cars, spending money every month (or week) to buy the latest clothes and eating out three or four times weekly. Each family member in Darcy and Dan’s house, including their eleven-year-old son, has his own computer. They consistently have the latest thing in technology.
In fact, everything you’ve noticed about Darcy and Dan makes them look like
