In the Mother There is a Child - Jessica Noel
Dedication
When I was a new mother, I wrote these. I was falling in love with my child, I yoga’d through it, and these writings are what my meditations brought forth. Today, I have a two year old. Do I still fall in love with him every day? Of course. Will I forever? Yes. But let me just say: it would be very difficult to write like this right now.
Thanks for reading. Putting this out there was hard, but I’m so glad I’m doing it.
And to Jenay I say a most heartfelt thank you
for everything.
With warmth,
Jessica Noel
To my wonderful husband and our beautiful family.

he love of a mother is no new energy. This love has always existed since the first child was born. The deepness and wideness of the all-encompassing bond between mother and child is like the wind. It flows through every pulsing city, into every quiet corner of every field, under the oceans and into the vast sky. This love is known and recognized by every living thing; for everything was birthed. But to truly understand a mother’s love, you must be a mother.
When a new baby is born, the new mother is also born. With this birth comes the instant breath of realization. The mother suddenly, and without hesitation, understands this love. Never has she dreamed, even in her wildest imagination, of the newfound connectivity. The smell, taste, and sight of her young child brings forth such a thick emotion that she quivers inside her ribs, and for the first time, she is truly aware of her heart…and her soul.
Long after we, the mothers, are gone from this world, our love for our children will remain. This is how it has always been, and this is how it will always be.

The Tree
tree has roots firmly entrenched in the earth. Its branches tower high above the ground, its leaves spread fully, and its trunk is strong and unshakable. But, the tree was not always this way. It had to learn how to move the earth to better anchor itself from the mighty winds. It had to discover its full potential by continuing
