I started writing romance fiction since I was 16 years old. I'm now a published writer thanks to the wonderful world of ebooks.I live in Canada and I love the winter months. As you can see, I wrote several books related to the winter holidays.I'm not represented by an agent and I'm a proud indie. I have learned how to create websites and edit images, design book covers, etc. All my books and what you see on this website I have created myself.I'm currently a certified accountant but my dream is to be a full-time independent writer of hot erotic romance books.

Rose just needed to get out. The snow and the trees were great, but she needed to get out of the cabin and out of her own head. She grabbed her down jacket, wool socks, hat, and everything else she needed for a walk in the Arctic. Ok, it's not exactly the Arctic, it’s just Tennessee. The snow crunched under her boots almost like wet sand. Not really, but living in Miami for most of her life, she had little else with which she could compare that sensation. She inhaled deeply. The cold scent of pine, snow, and wood smoke stung her nose and felt a little harsh on the back of her throat.

It was so foreign to the exhaust, salt, and spicy tang that hung in the air with the humidity in Miami. She found the trail marked on the trees near the cabin. That trail would take her down the quarter-mile stretch that led to the site manager. There were eight cabins on site, spread across a little less than thirty acres, abutting state park land in the Great Smokey Mountains. Cabins could be driven to, but there were no paved roads and not easily accessible. The secluded aspect in the upper mountain setting was what made the rental properties here very exclusive and sought after. Most guests opted for a pick-up, where someone from the main office would put your car under their carport and drive you to the cabin with all your supplies in their SUV. The site manager also offered to deliver supplies on his runs to the store for a small nominal fee.

Hell no. She'd seen enough horror movies to know what happens to the girl all alone in the cabin with no way to get to civilization and, therefore, safety. She rented a SUV that had four-wheel drive and was unlikely to slip on too much ice, since forecasters were excitedly calling for a white Christmas in a few days. She’d made sure it had a full tank of gas too. Maybe I do watch too many horror movies. Whatever, she was prepared anyway. Ever since Richard, her ex, told her she would regret leaving him, she felt the need to be aware.

She thought about the events of the past few months as she trod along the snowy path. She had just ended a relationship with Richard, her long-time boyfriend. They met at college, and he had charmed her socks off. Panties too, if I recall. That didn’t take long to wear off. He became very dismissive and often absent. He treated her like a chore, something you had to get through.

Rose had looked at a text that rang on his phone while he was in the shower. There were many to and from other women. Their break up didn't go at all as she suspected. She thought he'd be upset, but embarrassed, at being caught cheating. Oh no, it became clear he was with her because her father owned a somewhat successful, comfortably profitable resort in Miami. They did all right, but he planned to marry in the family business and eventually take over the company. He felt his sex life had nothing to do with their partnership and still expected the relationship to continue. When she told him it was over he either didn't believe her or he thought he would still get her back. He had grand schemes of expanding her family's resort to Malibu, Sweden, and Spain.

    Fat chance that.

She shook her head and ignored that train of thought. She wrote romance novels and did fairly well, but lately she’d had writer’s block. She would sit at the computer and nothing would come out. She tried every writing exercise she knew to get her creative juices flowing and...nothing. Guess there was no romantic inspiration in real life to pull from. But I came here to finish writing, not dwell on a sorry relationship. She thought a change of scenery would help inspire her.

She looked around her surroundings with a fresh eye. A noise in the branches called her attention to a male and female cardinal chasing each other, then tittering away. She smiled and wondered what else she might see in the form of wildlife while she was here. The sky was grey and you could almost smell the snow looming on the horizon. Fir trees and mountaintops stretched behind mountaintops as far as the eye could see. All the ridges layered across the horizon were topped with trees off all kinds. She loved looking at the fir trees that stood out, green and lush, against other tree brethren gone bare-branched for the winter. Five minutes in and I'm waxing poetic already, I knew the drastic change of scenery would jerk me out of my writer’s block.

She had a deadline of Valentine's Day. She needed to lock herself away and focus on finishing the last book before her contract renewal. If sales went well, she could negotiate a nice new settlement for each new installment of a series
