Ruth Jones is used to everyone thinking she’s just like Nessa Jenkins. But when she arrives for our cover shoot, smiling, friendly and a little bit nervous, she could scarcely be further from the tough, leather-clad character she plays in her hit comedy Gavin & Stacey.
Casually dressed in a soft grey jumper, jeans and trainers, and wearing no make-up, the only sign of stardom is the camera crew following her every move, as she’s also being filmed for a TV documentary. Ruth claims she’s lazy, but her extraordinary writing and acting credits tell a very different story.
