Paul D Cookson
I grew up in San Antonio Texas. I am a musician and have worked in television and film. For the past 8 years, I have been a stay-at-home dad. Through trial and error, this experience has taught me what it takes to run a household and learn new ideas and have fun doing it. I love to paint and cook. I also love to travel and spend time with my family.

The Stay @ Home DAD 200+ Tips & Hints For Running Your Household - Paul D Cookson
- Foreward
For more than ten years, Paul Cookson and I have done life alongside one another, raising our children and attending church together with our families. Writing the foreword to his well-written book is a great honor. As a mother of three and a licensed clinical social work counselor (LCSW), I have seen the great benefits of caring well for my family by both staying at home and by working on a part-time basis. The Stay @ Home Dad contains many useful suggestions for stay-at-home fathers. I think that the shortest, but one of the most important hints is # 94: Remember, it’s not all about you.
Parenting is a fiery process that molds you into the better you. Paul gives many wise tips for working through this life process in a fun, organized, successful way.
In my practice, I often see the effects of the stress of parenting, for working parents as well as the stay-at-home Dads. Remember that this is a hard transition; and if it is too much of an adjustment, it is okay to seek help. Staying at home full-time can be very isolating, and it is so important to ask for support without shame. Paul suggests that you seek out others in the community. It is a great calling to be a stay-at-home Dad, but you have to keep yourself healthy as well. This selfless job takes a lot of planning. In other words, don’t forget you, the caregiver,
