Chapter One – The Key Ingredient for Success
I am a passionate advocate of choosing the path less travelled and creating your own destiny through business. I love hearing success stories of brilliant, driven, talented people who dare to dream and take a chance on building their own empire.
Sadly, research tells us that many businesses do not make the five-year mark, let alone survive the first year.
There are so many elements that go into making a business a success and I have seen both the good and the bad. Even if you have the right product for the right market - without cash flow you won’t survive! Good cash flow is the most critical aspect of your business and in my view, cannot be achieved without an effective accounts system in place.
My background
I started my career working as an undergraduate in an accounting firm. While it was clear to me quite early on that my future was not going down this path, I learnt the ropes in those first years. I credit this experience with helping me become a successful bookkeeper.
With extensive experience in the finance industry, predominantly focused on bookkeeping, I was privy to the inner workings of many small businesses. Throughout this time, I followed the same procedure
