    Acknowledgements

Above all, it is my heroes, mentors and people within my life that I must thank. But while I’m here, I really should say thank you to a few people that made this book possible. First of all, my partner Anita, for her patience and ability in looking after our two beautiful girls, while allowing or at least accepting my disappearance into my office each and every morning to write. Thanks, babelicious!

Secondly, to my Virtual Assistants Rachel Caňete and Mario Cuarez. Without you guys I would have never discovered this brilliant world of outsourcing. Also, and more to the point, you both are so dedicated and so passionate about this business that without you it just wouldn’t be possible. Thanks guys, you are both awesome and inspiring!

To all the other VA’s that have helped us out along the way, thank you also. You know who you are.

    Introduction

This book has been written to inspire and to encourage readers to explore the quantifiable benefits of Virtual Assistants. It will offer insights into gaining greater productivity, effectiveness, increased results, while in the process granting a higher level of freedom in life. This is the way to find delegate to freedom.

I am a big believer in freedom and taking the action required to achieving happiness and purpose in our lives. Freedom is my most cherished value, and is the chief motivation behind everything I do. I believe it’s the central motivation behind all humankind, and thank you Brendon Burchard for opening my eyes to this. With this in mind, I am always searching for ways to allow more freedom in my life. This is why I delved into the world of outsourcing.

Since hiring my VA, I have achieved more effectiveness in time management than ever before. People often comment and wonder how I can get so much done. Well this is how, and because of this, I have never looked back. I then realized that this was something I could in turn offer to others, helping them to find a Virtual Assistant of their own, and achieve a greater level of freedom also. My goal is to assist all to live with greater passion and purpose. I believe that the freedom gained via outsourcing is a significant means to this.

For many starting out such journeys, the capital allowing us to share pursue these options may not be readily available. This is precisely, however, one of the benefits of working virtually. I think you will find it very affordable.

With all this being said, a partner and I have created the CM Wells Global Solutions company, offering services to assist people in obtaining their personal freedom. We are a small company, but one achieving significant impact in the lives of our clients. This is just the beginning.

I hope the insights on Virtual Assistant services you will gain from this book will help to inspire you to achieve the freedom we all desire.

    Peace, Passion, and Purpose.

    The Current Path of Life

Imagine you had a clone, an exact replica of yourself who could share your daily load. Imagine the time you would gain. That’s the concept of a Virtual Assistant.

Being busy is great… or so we continue to remind ourselves, because simply put, it’s how we achieve our goals. The notion of being busy both from an internal and external perspective is gratifying. It provides one with a sense of self-worth and respect, and justifies them as a contributing member of society. There is a difference, however, in simply ‘being busy’ and actually increasing productivity. Sometimes we are susceptible to keeping busy solely for the image of it. However, if the act of being busy doesn’t provide significant value to one’s immediate or long term benefit, then could it not be said that you are, in fact, working ‘away’ from your goals?

If the true benefit of one’s actions are not easily identified, then the motion could only be considered counterproductive. Rather than providing value, it may instead be taking it away. Being busy for the sake of being busy is therefore wasteful. Our time on earth is finite, and being busy for the sake of being busy, without defined purpose, or value producing outcome, is a poor use of time. Would you not rather be ‘busy’ enjoying the richer moments in life?

The universe exists in a constant state of expansion.

With this comes our own incessant desire to do more.

This is true for most of us, however, at some stage in our life we may fall into one of the following three categories:

The first category are those who simply live lazy. They are content to be less and live with less. Laziness, for whatever reason, is essentially an unwillingness to make effort. It provides nothing of value to the world, or the person themselves. Relaxing and being lazy, however, are two different things. These people prioritise relaxation, though relaxation without purpose. Whilst everything expands around them, people in this category remain stagnant.

The second category are people who are not lazy, and have a will to do something more, yet have lost any ambition to take the initiative to pursue their desires. This may be attributed to social conditioning, or other external or internal forces that have numbed, stopped, or crushed any progress. Passion and purpose can be reignited if it is discovered again, massaged and promoted. They feel the expansion that exists within them, yet have lost the inertia to proceed.

The final category are those existing for purpose. They have vision, and dreams, and enjoy working to capacity. They typically share a growth mindset, and in spite of any preconceived limiting beliefs, believe anything can be overcome and achieved. They are in a constant state of expansion aligned with all else around them.

    So, which category are you?

Whichever the case, the benefits of utilizing the services of Virtual Assistants will be of help. As you either have more tasks and activities that need to be created and accomplished, or already have too many for time to allow.

Imagine having the freedom to work when you like to or not work at all; to live or travel anywhere you desire, to have freedom to buy what you wish, to pursue hobbies and leisure activities, and to walk to the beat of your own drum.

So what’s the best way to achieve this extra freedom?

    Increase your productivity.

Now this is not to say you need to increase your workload, or individual output, but your productivity. There is a difference. You could potentially gain such freedoms if say you won the lottery. You may also choose to decrease your standard of living. However, for many of us, these are not options. So, let’s instead focus upon how we use our time.

Effective time management is the act of extracting true purpose from all moments in life.

    Time

Time is precious, and is often the first obstacle in the way of our desires. I just don’t have enough time or if only there were more hours in a day are common phrases we all use. There are only 24 hours in a day, and for many of us they are broken into the following:

    We sleep for 8 hours

    We work for 8 hours

And ideally we have 8 hours left for personal time. I say ‘ideally’ because generally this is not the case. We tend to spend this time commuting to work, eating, preparing for the day, performing jobs around the house, taking care of the kids or others, socializing, and the lists go on and on.

Finding balance in life is the great challenge. We could work all day and then in our personal time continue the hustle. We could reduce our sleeping hours to fit more in, and initially raise our productivity. Hustling like this for longer periods, however, is not sustainable. It’s more likely to burn you out.

What if you could achieve more of a balance, and create a life with a nice healthy mix? You get to work, enjoy hobbies and leisure, spend time with family, and socialise, and yes, even manage to sleep an effective amount of hours each day. This is what the service of a Virtual Assistant can provide.

    Sleep

The average person requires between 7 and 9 hours of sleep, with the ideal rate said to be around 8 hours. In saying this everyone is unique in how many hours they need. The amount you need depends on such things as body type, gender, occupation, diet, and how you choose to stimulate yourself each day.

We need an optimal amount of sleep to increase our daily performance. Sleep is our body’s recovery period. If you deprive yourself of sleep, you deprive yourself of that recovery. Through efforts in straining more time from the day, cutting the amount of sleep makes sense, but it is not sustainable nor advisable. Lack of sleep has been shown to reduce your memory, your cognitive skills, ability to think logically and solve problems, it messes with your hormones, affects your mood, and also your overall level of happiness. Thinking about times when you have had limited sleep, you may recall how ineffective you were in performance, or being in bad moods, struggling to focus your attention, and probably found yourself procrastinating. This is not the key to increasing productivity.

There are ways to hack your sleep so that you can operate effectively with less, and it is certainly worth the time and research. The best hack is to master your health. A healthy body will require less time to recover and work better with the energy it uses throughout the day. Through improved health and even some sleep hacking techniques, you may gain an hour or two each day, which over a year or lifetime is a huge amount of time back.

    Work

For some people, work is something to be enjoyed, but for many work simply a means to an end. Statistics across the globe vary, but between 65% to 85% of the work force find themselves unsatisfied with what they do. People falling into categories 1 or 2 as discussed above, often find themselves working a job that doesn’t align with their desires.

Are you living life or are you working to pay bills until you die.

    - Jay Samit

This for many of us is precisely how life may seem. If half of your waking hours are spent dedicated towards something you truly don’t enjoy, this can really only be considered a waste of life. Unfortunately, we usually can’t just pack up and quit, although this may in many cases actually be a fair and reasonable strategy.

Can you find genuine interest in your current job? What is it about your job that fails to get your mojo pumping? Is it your boss, colleagues, the work environment, the monotonous tasks, perhaps the uniform, or the customers you serve? It may be something conjured internally. How did you feel when you first started? Did you accept the job just as a source of
