As most authors might claim, I was always been a natural storyteller and voracious book reader. Somehow, I also knew that some day I would sit down and write a book, which I did quite recently. When I finally sat in front of my computer monitor to do just that, the words literally came pouring out. Before very long, I had written many books in various genres. At first, my prolific writing was mainly for the pleasure and self-entertainment involved, until I discocered Smashwords and ebooks, and here I am, a published author with a long list of books to my credit. And many more to come.

    Timeless Marine the Beginning

    Chapter 1

Officer Candidate School, both Olivia and Trudy thought, was truly a cake-walk after their initial and advanced training, and they passed it just as well as they did everything before. They were quite pleased to see Colonel Croft among the guests on graduation day, appreciating her appearance and the fact that she pinned their second lieutenant bars to their epulates and their earned badges to their chests.

Well, Ladies, now that you're wearing your new ranks you're also allowed to show your various badges as well. So congratulations on everything.

Kind of nice having them on, even if it is only for ten days, until we start our TBS.

I thought you'd like that. So what are your plans for upcoming liberty?

Fly up to LA and stay with my fiancé while Trudy does what she likes best, looking for and seducing virile young men. In fact, our flight out of Baltimore International is scheduled for a little over three hours.

Then you're invited to join me for lunch at a great seafood restaurant in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.

That'll be great, Linda. Olivia responded.

I thought you'd appreciate it. Okay, are you all packed and ready to go?

We sure are, Linn, so give us a minute to go get our suitcases.

Just as had happened at OCS, they were both able to pass everything easily at the Basic School for Marine Commissioned Officers, TBS. When they arrived back in Oxnard after a two-week stay with Bradley, both were given command of their own squads, some of whose members had gone through boot camp with them and were aware of their great abilities. Rather than displaying ill feelings against them for becoming officers and now commanding them, everyone exhibited great pleasure that the two, who had come from a Marine backgrounds similar to their own, had succeeded so well as to become officers.

Trudy and Olivia were kept very busy for the next three years, mostly in covert operations in the Middle East against terrorists plotting mischief against the United States and Israel. They were also used in drug interdiction in South America and Mexico quite a few times in conjunction with the DEA, where Olivia and Trudy frequently shape shifted into wolf form and went hunting together whenever they were in a wooded area.

When the US military decided upon creating a 'Surge' in Iraq, their entire regiment, including a heavy-weapons platoon for each company, was sent over to combat the insurgents. It was the first time ever that the regiment was sent in its entirety to do open battle which, surprising no one, they performed with great distinction.

The regiment, though utterly successful in their mission, suffered many casualties and, as a result, both Trudy and Olivia were quickly promoted to the rank of captain and then to lieutenant colonel, each commanding a company.

Olivia and Trudy remained in Iraq and Afghanistan throughout the next six years and, using their special talents, caused the insurgents in Iraq and the Taliban in Afghanistan tremendous losses in men and materiel. While in Iraq, they continued operating against the enemy much as they did during their first tour and killed many of them either in shape shifted form individually or by tracking them to their hiding places, then returning with their two squads to decimate them. Their constant activities served to prevent many of the insurgents in openly combating the Coalition forces and forced many of them to cease their attacks and hide.

Their success in Afghanistan was even more significant as the Taliban mostly hid in deep caves in the mountainous regions, which made it impossible for regular troops to follow and trap them. Olivia and Trudy, though, were not under such restrictions as they roamed the hiding areas as wolves and were able to sniff and follow the slightest enemy tracks to their hiding caves, which they stealthily entered and then decimated them with thermal grenades or any other explosives that conditions called for.

It was Trudy's idea that despite the discovery two years earlier that the mountainous area of Tora Bora was found to be literally empty of Taliban and Al Quid forces, that its cave complex was no longer vacant. She reasoned that since many attacks on the coalition forces seemed to originate from the general direction of the region that the insurgents must have been filtering back into the caves and regrouping.

Colonel Croft agreed with her assessment
