    I once met a man upon a beach

    Stay a while he did beseech

    Although quite sombre, he had guile

    So I agreed to stay awhile

    He lived not far from the tidal reach

    An ancient hut the wood sun bleached

    He bade me enter and there within

    A darkened room, sparse furnishing

    We tasted wine of some unknown type

    He settled back and lit his pipe
