Lippy from the Liffey

Like every Irish person - and a lot of other people around the world - I was devastated to hear recently that Shane MacGowan had died. Doubly tragic, it was just before Christmas, a season that he has provided the soundtrack to since Fairytale of New York was released in 1987.

I saw him play maybe eight to 10 times over the years - it's so, so good. It was written more than 30 years ago but the lyrics are so relevant to today's world. Go and check them out for yourself.
