About this ebook

Eddie is Mr and Mrs Wilson's only child, although he demands enough attention for three.
They adore their son but he can be very hard work at times. He is very inquisitive, and tries very hard to be helpful to his parents, friends and neighbours. However, he has the ability to make a simple situation very complicated. He often embarrasses his poor parents with awkward questions at inappropriate moments. This leads to many amusing conversations, as Eddie tries to understand and learn about the world around him.

We meet Eddie just before his 7th birthday. His mother has arranged a birthday party and taken great care to make it special for him. She has arranged for a man to bring a bouncy castle for the garden and a children's entertainer to amuse Eddie and his friends after a lavish tea. The action starts after Eddie is asked to assist the entertainer with his final trick. This leads him into a series of gripping adventures and challenges.

    Chapter 1 -Life with Eddie

Eddie was 6 years 11 months and 29 days old. He had short blonde hair, piercing blue eyes and a wide cheeky grin. There was always a never ending stream of questions pouring from him. He never stopped until he had discovered everything he wanted to know, which was normally quite a lot. His voice was particularly piercing and loud and by the age of three the whole neighbourhood either knew Eddie or knew of him. He always seemed to be in the centre of the action. Eddie did not intend to get into trouble but trouble always seemed to find him.

He did not mean to cause trouble in the butchers shop! Mum had said that flies had germs, and germs were very bad for you. So when he saw a really Big Fly about to sit on some sausages he wanted for his tea, he picked up the first thing he could find to try to hit the fly. It was unfortunate that the fly was too fast for him. It was unfortunate that the first thing he saw in his mother’s shopping bag was a large fresh cucumber and it was unfortunate that the fly was sitting on the butcher’s chopping block! Eddie made a large swipe at the fly and as the cucumber smashed down on the wooden chopping board, the fly flew off. The cucumber shattered into a thousand pieces, flying all over the butcher, the meat he was trying to cut and all the other customers in the shop. It took Eddie and his mother a good 10 minutes to clear up all the mess. He is still wondering why he did not get sausages for tea! The fly, should you be interested, left by the front door of the shop and is now happily living with her husband on the local rubbish tip with her several thousand children.

Eddie did not mean to ruin his Dad's mobile phone by putting it in the washing machine with the clothes. It had got all sticky when he spilt his drink on it and it seemed such an obvious thing
