About this ebook
I initially began writing; “Mary Catherine’s Simply Spells”, for myself. I would have Lists of herbs, gem stones, colors, and ingredients, all in one book. Subsequently it became a labor of love. It is filled with my magick spells, as well as information, handed down to me, by my Grandmother. It is an, “easy to read”, how to guide, for the initiated and non-initiated alike. These spells have worked for me as well as friends and family members throughout my life. It will be helpful as well as entertaining for readers interested in the fields of Witchcraft or Magic. My children’s future is the main element in my life; which motivated me to finish my book. Their favorite spell is “Jar School”, and was written especially for them. I pray my book will become their legacy. May love Light and Happiness fill all of the lives of those who read it.

Introduction
~~~~~
I do believe that Magick is in the air. You just have to reach out and grab it. Magick is also what we make of it. Most of have Magickal powers and don’t even realize that we have them. For example; have you ever wished for something in haste or in the heat of the moment? Have you ever wished someone Magick harm during an argument? Shortly after that, it happens or the wish "is granted? Then you feel guilty? I give you a quote,
Your word is your wand", from Florence Scovel Shinn. If the word is spoken it is given power. Magickal power. You have demanded action from the cosmos and it has obliged. Therefore, I recommend that you voice all of your spells and wishes aloud. I also believe that we all possess psychic abilities. I think that these gifts lie dormant in the subconscious; we just haven’t mastered their uses. So if we put the two ideas together, I think it would work something like this.
You speak the wish aloud, the subconscious hears your voice; it then acts on the wish thereby granting the wish… I personally have used this on a daily basis, to my advantage. Now as far as spells go I believe they are merely our faith in action.
As humans we must see to believe. As they are our faith in solid form, spells are also a tribute to our Mother and Father. Yes I did write the word and. Some of you may pray to God, some to Goddess, I send my prayers to both. We are to honor our Father and Mother
, after all.
My grandmother taught me to watch what you wish for. So I caution you in using these spells and any other Magickal workings. Make certain that you know exactly what you want before you proceed. I knew a girl once who wished for, the muscle bound hunk, down the road, to be hers forever. She performed a love spell, given to her by my grandmother. It took about a week for him to be touched by the Magick. Nonetheless, once she had him, she had him. They were married. I recall her saying He’s so gorgeous
. Little did she know, he would never hold a job, and he was violently abusive. She divorced him, and was remarried, but that didn’t stop him from continuing to stalk her. I strongly recommend wishing for your soul mate, or your one true love; when doing love spells. This way the cosmos is clear as to what you truly want, not what you think you want.
As with everything we do, we need tools. With spell casting you will need a few different things for each individual spell. Some spells require more than others. Although, most spells are basic. They require You; of course, and your spiritual energy. Others require actual ingredients. Some of the ingredients can be purchased at the grocery, or hobby store in your area. Others must be purchased at a Wiccan, Metaphysical, or Herbalist market. Such things as candles, spices, and fabric can be purchased locally. Other things such as specifically named oils, incenses, and Magickal potions; you will need to purchase from the specialty stores.
If you do not have, or cannot find a particular tool; or ingredient needed for one of the spells that you wish to cast; use the tables of correspondence in this book. You might be able to substitute something else in its place. For example: You might need a God candle
, simply use a, gold taper candle. As the color gold is representative of God. So is silver the color representative of Goddess. A number of ingredients represent love, as do a number of them represent hate. You may find that one ingredient is easier to obtain than another. Or you may feel comfortable using a certain tool as opposed to the other. The choice is yours. Isn’t that what a spell is?
For me a spell is the embodiment of my faith in physical form. Again I say, As humans we must see to believe
, in most cases. A spell is just that; being able to visualize our desires, and our prayers in physical form. That being said; if you prefer to use candles instead of incense, then I say go for it.
Please take caution when substituting ingredients, if you are not sure, do not hesitate to ask someone familiar with the subject of spell craft. Understand that I do not claim to be an expert in the area of spell casting, I have written this book using my personal spells; these ingredients and tools have worked for me. I am still learning, as we all are. There are lots of other resources on the internet as well. You might choose to Google
the ingredient, I use Google frequently, it is one of the best tools ever created; in my opinion.
Before casting a spell
Always remember the old adage, Watch what you wish for
.
Take a shower
You know the feeling you get in the shower when the water is too warm…That kind of drained feeling. That feeling is your aura, sucking itself inside. While you are washing away the feelings, intrusions, negative energy, and all around influences of the day; not only the dirt on your skin. After all, cleanliness is
