CHAPTER 1: The Dog Is Acting Strange!
Koby felt the sunshine gently touch the side of his face while he lay comfortably sleeping under his favorite bed sheets his uncle had given him last Christmas. Spread across the top of the sheets, were pictures of various olden day airplanes.
Above his bed was a red, one meter long, wooden model airplane that he and his grandfather had made together. It hung from the ceiling on an angle as if it was really soaring through the sky.
Koby had always loved airplanes. He knew everything there was to know about them, despite only being eight years old.
No-one in his family quite knew why he was so fascinated in them, but ever since he was a baby, whenever a plane would fly by, he would point up and smile.
Koby disappointed his parents when his first words spoken were not Mama
or Dada
. Instead, it was Boeing
.
Koby knew it must have still been early in the morning because the sun always touched his face through the curtains in the summer at sunrise. He was glad he still had a few hours left of sleep before he had to wake up for school.
Suddenly, Koby felt a tug on his pajama pants. He looked at the feet of his bed and there was Gordon, the one year old German shepherd he had rescued from the street exactly ten months ago. At the time, Gordon was so small, thin and dirty that no-one in the family had any idea what kind of dog it actually was.
