Reviews for The Television Episode

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This isn't a bad TV episode novelization. It sticks pretty well to the basic plot of the episode of the same name (though it's been a few years since I actually saw the episode). And of course the episode is nicely expanded in the text of the book as well.MJ Friedman is one of the best Star Trek writers (both the novels and the snow novelizations) there is. Up there with Peter David and Keith R. A. DeCandido (in my opinion). The prose flows and the characters pop from the pages just as they do from the screen. He even did something that not many authors are able to do, he very successfully wrote B'Elanna Torres correctly. Most authors either go too far to the human side and make her all weepy and ineffectual or too far to the Klingon side and make her a royal bitch that only has anger as an emotion. But, Friedman (with the help of Jeri Taylor, who wrote the original episode) has hit upon who B'Elanna Torres is perfectly.A good episode and a pretty good book too. Solid four stars.
