What do you do when a short story you submitted to a publisher has been altered beyond recognition? Adding story points that were not previously there, changing character genders, and inserting typographical errors into the title? You get your story back and publish it the way it was meant to be seen, which is what Mandy DeGeit has done here. However, she's decided to do even more than just that. In her own words:

50% OF EVERY SALE will be put away in order to pay all the authors who were in Cavalcade of Terror $25 and a contributor’s copy of the now defunct Cavalcade of Terror, for their stories. We’re all multi-faceted individuals and complexity is what makes us so interesting. I’m a daughter, a sister, a friend, an author, a business owner, a gypsy—the list goes on and on. For now, I’ll try to explain Mandy the writer as best I can, in the least words possible but better than someone else ever could. My full name is Mandy J. De Geit. (To make my name easier to search, I dropped the “J” and smashed De Geit together when I realized I’m the only Mandy DeGeit out there.) I was born the day after Christmas in 1977 and I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I’ve been here since 1999, but home was originally Timmins, Ontario, a small town up eight hours north of here– Yes the one Shania Twain is from and no, I don’t know her. I’m gypsy-like, or nomadic and I love travelling, so who knows where I’ll end up. I call myself an author of creepy fiction as I’m not sure how else to explain what I write. I am not all about the gore (well not yet anyways.) I try to write about things that just might happen. I like to point out the darkness that resides inside people around us, the secrets our friends might carry or the things that people close to us think about and are capable of. I haven’t found a category for that yet so creepy fiction works for me for now. (I am presently trying my hand at an action/comedy with a recurring character, so I’ll have to come up with a different title once that happens. Creepy/Comedy just sounds odd.) In addition to the short stories I currently have published, I have few more short stories coming out later this year. At the moment, I am working on a comedy novella and a horror novel.
