The Gift of Mamaku

About this ebook
With many beautiful coloured pictures by the author, this is a true story of wonder, heartbreak, love, and the healing of her little girl. Robina Adamson tells it just as she experienced it.
When she walks between two Mamaku trees one night in her back garden, she enters a forest from a time long ago. She meets a magical man from that time, and brings back a gift of love for her sick daughter...
This is a story from the magical land of Aotearoa. A story of Love - Aroha - that crosses all boundaries. Wherever there is great Aroha, all things are possible. For Aroha is powerful, Aroha is magical, and Aroha is timeless.
Robina Adamson
Robina Adamson was formerly a psychopaedic nurse. She studied psychology, New Zealand literature and Maori anthropology at Auckland University. She is qualified in a number of alternative health modalities and has an interest in the study of environmental pollution and its effects on human health, and especially birth defects in children. She spent a number of years writing articles to bring about public awareness of the harmful effects of agricultural chemicals, and campaigning for their safer use. Her other passion is the plight of indigenous peoples, with the decline of their language, and the resultant loss of their cultural identity. She has a particular interest in the people of the Pacific region and the Pacific peoples who live in NZ. She has lived in the Cook Islands and in Western Samoa. Today she lives in Auckland with her daughter, and continues to write poetry and illustrate her stories for children.
