About this ebook
Within seven chapters, the number 40 becomes a path, a portal to releasing wisdom from within. This wisdom is released via the Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights. Throughout points of faith, philosophy, and fulfillment, the number 40 has been the means to literal and figurative foundations upon which individuals have lived and died and in many ways, been resurrected both in lore and life. It is at the point of the spirit and mind that all people pass through different stages measured by points and time. At these benchmarks, people are assessed along certain degrees of innate and acquired knowledge. The division of 40 has proved to be a point of reasoning and duration upon which enlightenment, punishment, temptation, and redemption have become the focal point of human condition.
Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights makes one consider the word edification rooted in aedificare, Latin for “to build, to erect, or instruct”. Following this consideration, is the notion that education – educare comes from Latin meaning “to drive out”. From these points, we see there is a clear path to peace of mind and the ease of heart through the interplay of gaining knowledge and sharing wisdom. What and how are we building and what we truly drive out is based in our innate and spiritual capacity to learn, analyze, synthesize, apply, and share. How we best come to this point of equilibrium and sense of community is based in our ability to reach back into the past in order to erect a greater future. This act is done through prayer or meditation. From this meaning of opening our deeper psyche and spiritual eye, we can better comprehend and experience the compensation of positive thinking, avoid negative influences, reward ourselves and celebrate our originality and accomplishments, serve others, and truly reap the benefits and growth generated via forgiveness. It is true that there are a variety of numbers that hold similar if not equal influence over world societies such as 3, 5, 7, 8, and 10, but it is the number 40 which has been influential in so many aspects of world civilization from science to religion to philosophy. 40’s application goes from the most minute concepts to the most magnificent. 40 is a number that doesn’t simply reveal divisions or levels, but grave amounts of time for growth through strife, triumph, and often times, forgiveness and reconciliation.
Within the concept of Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights, there is the point of reaching goals through re-educating ourselves by way of the 4R's. These 4R’s are to “Resist”, to “Replace”, to “Record”, and to “Refresh”. By following the process of Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights that which brings us to a baser or lesser sense of self- that which brings us to anger, lust, greed, or depression, must be resisted. When we develop habits such as alcoholism or drug abuse, these compensate for some point of pleasure and/or growth that is natural to the human condition; yet, somehow through external forces such as abuse, neglect, degradation or internal turmoil such as mental-emotional instability, many of us turn to substance abuse as an escape. Refuge versus escape is a means to reach the glory and depth of the spirit; however, this can never be reached through forms of obsession, compulsiveness, or abuse. Therefore, resisting what works against our health and better nature can only be fulfilled by replacement.

Preface
Moses wrote the Ten Commandments instructed by God. Later, he returns for a Preface
Formula 40 Days and Forty Nights is rooted in a number of visions that are founded in images and sensations of humanities past. If we were to experience such visions and sensations, we may witness some manifestation of the following. As we return to our origins, both physical and spiritual, many of us would find ourselves in lands we recognize from a timeless Biblical age of long ago. In one vision, we may see ourselves near a cave along the Israeli-Jordanian border, astounded by three large boulders blocking three large caves. Within this vision, we would find ourselves moving the stone of the first cave with assistance of the Almighty, the power from the God-within. Once inside, we would see a great tower. The tower would be massive, having the design of a lighthouse, yet hidden by clouds. Ancient writings within the cave would be instantly translated as our spirits would ascend to the higher levels of ourselves toward Heaven. We would no longer have limitations for we would be greater than any of our desires or concerns. However, as this tower stands before us, we would note that this is the Tower of Babel. However, unlike the original tower in the land of Shinar this tower would be accepted by the Almighty because it would be just and for the purpose of serving love, joy, and abundance among us and with God.
The Almighty, the Creative Force recognizes the beauty in our efforts and attempts to better understand these gifts of necessity
presented in Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights. The Formula
is a means to build bridges and towers, a means to build and maintain communication and community. In that sense, the Almighty God in this vision would inscribe in the hearts and on the faces of a select group of men a sign upon their heads of light and a message of radiating wisdom. The message would read, Behold they are one and they have all one language. And this they began to do. Now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imaged to do.
Genesis 11:6 (KJV).
In our vision, we would understand that millennia ago, people were connected with the divine on a far deeper level than we have in the modern day. This is not due to technology or the departmentalization of religion, but for a lack of willingness to trust in the God external of us and the God-within. What we must understand as humankind is that simply having the power to accomplish virtually anything that our hearts desire doesn’t reflect our wisdom or ingenuity, but the content of our spirits. The content of our spirit must be reflected in what we exude in our powers of creation. We must not be as Nimrod was with the Tower of Babel and speak with one language against God, but be like many on the day of Pentecost and speak a number of languages to speak for God.
In our vision, we would move the second rock of the second cave and witness the foolishness of powerful people exchanging their wealth for shackles and chains. We would see them exchange tablets of stone for gold, silver, and cattle. Here we would see the fall of humankind from their origin and connection to God and their own spirits within. They would in essence turn from their source of power in the unknown and unseen
God for false hope in objects known
to have no spirit or knowledge of themselves. To many of us it would be like turning from the Son of God to the sun in the heavens. Though there is a symbolic connection, it is severed when people begin to place worship upon objects above the essence of the Divine Wisdom that created them.
We may see images of men standing over men with spheres in hand. The men standing would hold scythes as if to kill the men who in essence held power in the world unbeknownst to the dangers that awaited them, and all of this for a fat bull. This bull would represent power and abundance, yet not for the sake of bettering humankind, but merely to control it under the power of a few. However, we know as people of creation and not destruction that man cannot rule man, for all men and women are ruled and yet served by God. Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights is a system to keep us rooted in the spirit and word of the many names and standpoints we understand God, the Creative Force to be. The beauty of God is based in the number of people who believe in God from all walks of life. When this beauty is denied by the clouds of confusion or control, all the world appears to be sorrowful shades of gray. Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights pushes the clouds of deception to the side and allows the light of the Almighty to enlighten our spirits.
As our vision continued, we would come to the third boulder and cave. As we approached the cave, the stone would move by the power of the Almighty. Within this cave there would sit a massive pyramid. From the bottom of the pyramid, we would see a glow light as if the stone edifice held within it the essence of wisdom, love, and light. Men would ascend from the opening of the pyramid, driven by oxen, carrying tablets of gold. These mean would have the mark of God upon them, and a light emanating from their faces, identical to the men of the first cave. These men as they would speak would reveal that in periods of 40 Days and 40 Nights they were enlightened by a formula that had aligned their minds, bodies, and spirits. With this in mind, these men would conceal such wisdom and its application for many generations. Battles would ensue among the enlightened and the unenlightened. However, as wisdom would become available to all willing to open their minds to it, there would be less evil, less control, less pain and less sorrow… It is here that Formula 40 Days and Forty Nights has arisen among many sources and resources to be understood, shared, and further explored and enjoyed.
Introduction
We all have a purpose. We reach this purpose not solely through learned knowledge but through self-edification and the true meaning of education.
Formula 40 Days and 40 Nights makes one consider the word edification rooted in aedificare, Latin for to build, to erect, or instruct
. Following this consideration, is the notion that education – educare comes from Latin meaning to drive out
These 4R’s are to Resist
, to Replace
, to Record
, and to Refresh
Replacing what we resist is a matter of replenishing ourselves with something that invigorates and rejuvenates our total being. If we replace an alcoholic drink with a smoothie, we may need to combine this ritual with a social activity in which we receive the same reward and satisfaction we felt from drinking alcohol and feeling we are looser and less bound up by social quirks (i.e. nervousness or anxiety). As we replace say the nightclubs and alcoholic binges with more socially-enriching environments and a smoothie, we should record what we are doing, who we encounter, and how we feel. We can do this via journals, written or typed, or cam-journals
where we record ourselves via video or webcam. Through recording our experiences during the replacement
phase of the 4R’s, we can reflect on our growth, our means to overcome strife and temptation, and to gain wisdom in which others can potentially benefit from in the future.
Reflection is the best means of personal assessment. Like looking into a mirror, often the paramount standpoint of evaluation is self-evaluation. People, both friends and foes, may only focus
