The Poetry of A Hardened Teenage Mind

About this ebook
You will find herein a collection of poems from my adolescence. In here I catalog the questions I asked the world and the cynical analyses that helped rationalize my human experience.
I wasn't always depressed or sad in those times, and actually experienced periods of immense joy. However, poetry was something I usually did when in a state of negative emotion. I wrote things down when I was in poverty and when I was an illegal immigrant with little options for work or higher education, to name a couple.
The darkness and questioning nature of my young adolescent mind has evolved to one of more positivity and excitement. I publish this with the intention of showing that there is always a way out, no matter how bleak the circumstances.
Pedro Poveda
My name is Pedro Poveda, I’m a college student with too many interests to count.I was fortunate enough to earn a full tuition paid scholarship in the ninth grade that is making my higher education dreams possible. On the topic of dreams, at one point I was pinning all my hopes on the passing of the Dream Act. This was a bill that would give undocumented students (such as myself at the time) a chance to naturalize after completing a college curriculum or serving in the military. I lucked out, however, and managed to naturalize myself through other methods. Now my goal is to prove that the American Dream is indeed alive by devoting all my energy towards becoming a computer programmer.
