    Introduction

The Foundation of Your Faith will direct you to righteousness, Spiritual gifts, and the rising of your Spiritual ministry … in the midst of a contrary world.

The spontaneity, and presence, of God’s Spirit in our lives is the only Gospel that is respected in this book.

Our traditions may have robbed us of the gospel of light: the Spiritual relationship … that Jesus, and the apostles of the early church, spoke of. (St. John chs.14,15,16)

As we look at the authority of the Spirit Word, and the power of oath that is found in Christ, a whole new realm of the eternal becomes apparent.

Introductions to some new understandings are brought out for those who are seeking God’s life, as they are encouraged to become acquainted with … the Spirit of Truth.

The suggestion in the Review Breaks of this book is that you might hear what the Spirit is saying and diligently make it your own, that you might bring forth good fruit unto the glory of the Father. (St. Luke ch.8) .. - Bill C.

    Chapter One

    Carnality - and The Gospel

Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of your servant, and his supplications, and cause Your face to shine upon Your sanctuary ... that is desolate, ... for the LORD's sake. - Daniel 9:17

The above prayer prayed by Daniel, the man of God, was by no means the common, nor popular, concern of most people in his day ... where he lived.

Daniel was a captive of the Babylonian Empire, and was not enjoying the freedom and blessing of God's people that he knew God wanted them to have.

Babylon, the mighty city by the river, had become the mightiest metropolis of the ancient world, had conquered most of its neighbors, including Daniel's homeland, Judah; and now Daniel found himself serving the ungodly kings of Babylon.

Throughout scripture Babylon was quite often referred to by the major prophets, and in most cases was known as a big ... melting pot of various religions. Soon, it would become a symbol of what man could do without God, as he (or she) sought political and commercial power.

Because Daniel did not fall into this homogenization, but rather sought a relationship with God, he experienced some controversy. But even more importantly, God made His presence known to him, and gave him prophetic visions.

He was promoted by the kings, and we are still studying, and quoting, his writings today. (around the world)

In the Bible, the Book of Daniel is a short book, but our brief reference to it shows the workings of God in an individual's life amidst carnality, activity, power, and wealth; where nobody else seemed to care about the plan of God, ... nor about

    His Kingdom.

In the ancient writings of Daniel we see that God brought down the proud leaders of Babylon, and manifested His own sovereignty over all. This same God is still present in the nations of the world today. (in our time)

Hopefully, in the next few moments we will open the way clearly for the intended message of the Gospel to be seen as it was originally proclaimed.

Just as we see Daniel being lifted up from desolation, we are also given the account of Babylon's leader, King Nebuchadnezzar, being brought down to submission until he came to this following realization of life.

"And, at the end of the days I lifted up my eyes unto heaven and my understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored Him that lives forever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His Kingdom is from generation, to generation:

And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest Thou ?

Now, I praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and His ways, judgment. And those that walk in pride, He is able to abase." - Daniel 4:34-37

Well, life goes on, and King Nebuchadnezzar passed on. And in his stead, his son, Belshazzar, was raised up to be king of Babylon.

Once again (Daniel ch.5) God speaks to the new king, and the King is ... very troubled.

Daniel is becoming well known by now, and his reputation as a gifted prophet precedes him.

    We read ...

Now the Queen by reason of the words of the King and the lords came into the banquet house. And the Queen spoke, and said, O King live forever: let not your thoughts trouble you, nor let your countenance be changed. There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy Gods; and in the days of your father light" and understanding, and wisdom like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him

Then Daniel was brought before the King, and the King spoke unto him, I have even heard of you that the Spirit of the Gods is in you, and that light and understanding, and excellent wisdom, is found in you.." - Daniel 5:10-14

The lesson that we can learn from the story of Daniel's life is that ... even in the midst of the arrogant surroundings of Babylon, God still spoke to the people of choice; for man is not in control of his dreams, and realization. And, when God did speak to the world, there was someone there who had the reputation of knowing the presence and voice of the Spirit of God. (God's Steward)

There is a brief time period (around 600 B.C.) when there was a major shake-up happening with God's people, and world events.

From this period we get prophetic writings that we find in our Bibles, such as Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, and others. (ie. Obadiah, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, etc.)

From these writings we see a common problem amidst the people of God, ... and hear the prophetic words.

Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house. - Ezekiel 12:2

For My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. - Jeremiah 2:13

It is important to realize that the common problems of sin are not so different today from times past. That is why the writings of ancient prophets are still so valuable.

People that have eyes to see, but are distracted; ears to hear, but it's not convenient. (nor of their belief system) They have forsaken the fountain of living waters, ... and have tried to hold to waters from the past. They are a people who are not being stewards of light to this world, and to the next generation. They are religious, but are not obedient to God's voice.

"I Daniel, understood ... whereof the Word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet (concerning Jerusalem) And I set my face unto the LORD God ... and I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession.

We have sinned, and have rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and judgments:

Neither have we hearkened to your servants, the prophets, which spoke in Your Name ... to all the people of the land.

(notice, not teachers, but rather prophets)

Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God to walk in His laws which He set before us by His servants the prophets.

Therefore has the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all His works which He does: for we obeyed not His voice." - Daniel 9:2-14

This term voice has been translated from the Hebrew word qo'wl (kole), meaning to call aloud, proclaim.

In New Testament writings we use the term Gospel, which is translated from the Greek term e'uagge'lizo, which means to declare, to announce.

As we proceed, we will see the difference between the Gospel (the voice), ... and the other things that are often being falsely put forward as the gospel. One is handled by prophets, and servants of God, while the other ... is not.

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall be corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do His pleasure. - Daniel 11:32

The above scripture addresses the issue that there are two types of people that live out of two very different sources.

The first people find their life's decisions made out of reasonings, and social acceptability. All is temporal, and they seek the approval of chosen peers, who for some reason have impressed them. They are forever floundering for they have no root in themselves. They are easily offended, but on the other hand are motivated by flattery, and acceptance. (Comp: St. Luke 8:4-15, Sower and Word).

The second people do not act out of the judging ability that is found in the human race since man’s encounter with self-desire, and the "Tree of Knowledge of Good
