Subsequently, your sharply focused state becomes a part of you -- even when you’re back in the real world.
Your mind will close the door on all distractions. You will learn to shut out the bombardment of technological information you’re faced with every day, find your center, and become contented with your surroundings.
Meditation takes the mind to an atypical state of concentration. Normally when a person focuses on an idea, they dedicate their brainpower to absorbing and analyzing every piece of information. However, during meditation they use their concentration to take them to a place where they exist in emotional, physical, and often spiritual harmony.
Your mind becomes calm, and you learn to silence your thoughts like a still pond. When you reach this state of tranquility, you become open to all sorts of possibilities. You become a vessel in which to pour feelings, knowledge, and universal truths. And when routinely practiced you will learn to bring that serenity with you back into the conscious world.
The word meditation
