Me, my maid Rosie and my best friend James did not leave for Chicago at dawn as James said we would. We left at noon, James' version of dawn and two weeks after we decided to go to Chicago to confront Monica Benton. "Gad, a gift? Sorry Jude, but at this point, herpes would have been a better gift." James said and shot snot face a bird.

Listen, it's a short flight to Chicago from Manhattan and I could not justify paying $800.00 a ticket when Monica Benton possibly blew any future chance I have blowing anything for money.

Cute pun, James said and chuckled. Okay, so what's the plan?

I'm not sure, Barnaby Jones. Why don't you think of the plan? I'm the only one who has done any planning thus far. I got us the tickets, I secured the use of Tony's penthouse for our sleuthing pleasure and I'm planning on bopping the kid in front of us over the head with your pink buckwheat travel pillow in about five minutes, so if you don't mind, I'm kind of planned out at this juncture.

Fine. Calm down. Okay, I've been doing a lot of thinking about this, James said and ran his fingers through his hair. "I think I should pose as a reporter from the Times, no, the New Yorker and phone this Benton bitch and tell her I've just had an exclusive interview with you. I’ll tell her you revealed some steamy and interesting details about her and her husband and your connection to both -- that will get her heart pounding!
