This is a work of fiction. Totally made up. Not real. Any resemblance to real people or events is pure coincidence.

    For adult audiences only.

I think he’s ever so handsome.

Jasmine did her best to smile at Molly, her best friend. Tried hard to keep envy out of her face. Molly was getting married. She would be leaving Primrose Castle, though she promised to visit as often as she could. Jasmine’s biggest window into the outer world was about to slam shut.

It sounds wonderful, Jasmine said, and Molly reached forward and squeezed her hands. Oh, Jas, she said, I’d give anything if you could come with me. It’s so awful that you’re locked away in this tower. It’s not right!

Jasmine sighed. They’d had this conversation many times. Talking about the injustice wouldn’t change anything.

Molly leaned in closer. Maybe you can sneak out. After dark. You could come to my wedding after all!

Jasmine shrugged irritably. She'd been stuck in this tower for as long as she could remember. She and Molly had planned her escape a thousand times. Now she was nineteen and still trapped. She wasn't going to escape. Not ever.

I have an idea, Molly said, and Jasmine felt a flicker of hope in spite of herself. Molly's grin was full of mischief. I think you should seduce your guard.

Jasmine stared at her, confused. Seduce Jacques? How?

Not Jacques, Molly said. Wait until Wade comes on duty. I've seen the way he looks at you when your back is turned. You could have him any time you want.

Jasmine felt her cheeks heating. That's absurd. Isn't it? She felt flustered and unsure. Does he really look at me? Like that?

Molly grinned wickedly. He sure does.

But I don't know how to seduce a man! Jasmine wailed. I wouldn't know where to start.

It's surprisingly easy, Molly told her. Jasmine's eyebrows rose, and Molly blushed. Thomas and I have been, um, doing things. Her blush deepened. Only since the engagement! Anyway, you won't believe what boys are like. I bet you could seduce Wade easy. Then you just put on his clothes and walk out.

Put on his clothes? Jasmine asked. Why would he let me do that?

Molly looked at her feet. Sometimes, she said, depending on what we do, Thomas gets... really sleepy, after. She looked up. Don't stop him from doing anything, she said, and he'll go right to sleep. Just make sure he takes his clothes off, first. Otherwise you're stuck.

After her friend had left, Jasmine stood for a long time staring out her north window, her thoughts in a whirl. The countryside rolled away for miles before her, but she didn't see it. She'd had the same view since she'd been tall enough to see over the window sill, and it bored her. She thought she might do just about anything to see something new.

She didn't really think Molly's plan would work. However, the idea of a seduction had taken hold of her imagination. It wasn't as if she was ever going to get married. How would she ever meet a man, when she couldn't leave her tower? Really, it was Wade or nothing.

A maid brought her dinner tray, and she ate at a table beneath the west window. She watched the sky change colours as she ate, and wondered what it would be like to be outside. She couldn't quite imagine having no ceiling above her.

She undressed, put on her nightgown, and looked at her bed. This was it. All she had to do was slip between the sheets, close her eyes, and everything would continue as it had before. The idea was quite tempting.

Instead she turned to the tall mirror beside her bed. She had only a vague idea of what might entice a man, but her nightgown was rather thin cotton and didn't do much to conceal her body. She supposed that was a good start.

She gave herself a frank appraisal. Long, curling black hair. An oval face, very pale since the only sun she got was through the east window at sunrise, and the west window at sunset. Big, solemn, lavender eyes, a bud of a nose, a wide mouth. Was she pretty? She had no idea. She saw Molly, and a couple of maids, and once in a long while Lady Primrose, who ruled the castle with her husband.

Jasmine was sure she lacked Lady Primrose's haughty elegance. On the other hand, she knew she was prettier than at least one of the maids, Temperance, who had a wide, flat, plate-like face and a vast hairy mole on the side of her nose. Still, Molly said she was pretty enough.

Jasmine looked at the rest of her body. She was taller than Molly, a tiny bit wider in shoulders and hips. Jasmine's breasts were bigger than Molly's. She looked at her reflection in the glass. The nightgown had a high, modest neckline,
